Looking for a hands-on Vice President of Engineering with experience building secure, scalable solutions for open finance. As a foundational member of the team, you will be responsible for driving the team's long-term vision and architecture, drive/shape technology roadmaps, and provide technical leadership to the engineering team.

The ideal candidate will have extensive design and architecture experience, knowledge of data technologies and services, and a proven record of building mission critical, highly scalable systems. In addition to strong technical knowledge, you will be someone who thrives in a fast paced start up-like environment, and is passionate about solving ambiguous, challenging problems that have not been solved before.

Responsibilities

• Leadership & Management:

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, ensuring professional development and high performance.
• Develop and implement engineering strategies that align with the company's business goals.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Technical Oversight:
  
  

• Oversee all engineering activities and projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
• Ensure the engineering team uses the best practices and follows industry standards.
• Drive the architecture and technical decisions for product development.
• Strategic Planning:
  
  

• Collaborate with executive leadership to define the technical roadmap.
• Identify and evaluate new technologies and methodologies to improve product quality and efficiency.
• Plan and manage engineering budgets, including staffing, tools, and technology investments.
• Stakeholder Management:
  
  

• Communicate technical concepts and project statuses to non-technical stakeholders.
• Work closely with other departments, such as Product, Sales, and Marketing, to ensure alignment and support for engineering initiatives.
• Quality Assurance:
  
  

Ensure rigorous testing, code reviews, and quality assurance processes.

Implement and maintain high standards for code quality, security, and performance.

• Recruitment & Retention:
• Lead the recruitment of top engineering talent.
• Develop retention strategies to keep key talent within the organization.
  
  

Qualifications

• Experience in a startup or high-growth environment.
• Knowledge of industry-specific technologies and trends.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing and operations
• Experience with data-driven decision-making and analytics.
• Strategic thinker with a vision for the future of engineering and technology.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
• Comfortable working in a collaborative environment that is constantly evolving
• Demonstrated ability to mentor junior software engineers in all aspects of their engineering skill set
