TEAM LEWIS is looking for a visionary Executive Vice President (EVP) to lead the development of its US region. Heading a team of over 100 consultants across the US, the role has P&L responsibility. The EVP, US reports into the Chief Operating Officer and is part of the global leadership team. With an international mindset and approach, the role will foster collaboration with the agency’s UK, EMEA and APAC regions.

It aims to strengthen the bonds between the creative industries, businesses, government, and non-profits. In 2021, the TLF granted $1 million to small and large causes all over the globe. The goal in 2023 is to grant $5 million. Community charities are championed by employees, who in addition to the financial donation, volunteer their time and skills to leverage effectiveness.

Purpose of the role

The EVP, US is responsible for innovation, evolution, development and growth in the US. The agency has a strong B2B technology and growing B2C client portfolio. Both can be developed further, whilst growing other verticals and launching new practices, services and products.

The EVP, US will lead and/or play a significant role in US and multi-market new business credentials and pitches. They will marshal teams to secure and grow the types of clients the agency is capable of servicing. The senior lead on notable US and multi-market clients, the EVP, US will bring holistic thinking to tackling client briefs and problem solving, pushing creative boundaries. Understanding the macro-economic, political and cultural trends that clients face, the EVP, US’s strategic and transformational insights will enthuse clients to be braver and invest budget to break new communications ground. The role will champion client service excellence, retention and profitability.

For the role to be effective, forging strong and close relationships with TEAM LEWIS stakeholders across the network is essential. The EVP, US will need to understand and embrace the agency’s business ambitions, opportunities and challenges. Championing a team working culture, they should be a notable presence in the US and across the network.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive the plan to grow the US business, incorporating commercial targets; to include growing integrated marketing business, developing the creative function/capabilities, expanding services and products, launching new practices
  • Be the senior lead on notable US and multi-market clients; provide strategic counsel to clients, if necessary, re-booting strategy and creative to help develop and grow the remits
  • Manage the US P&L, ensuring revenue growth and acceptable profit margins
  • Drive proactive upselling of services and products to increase retainer and project revenues
  • Provide strategic counsel to the US senior team to help develop the integrated marketing proposition and grow business
  • Work with Marketing to promote the agency as a leader in integrated marketing communications
  • Lead US and multi-market RFIs and pitches, demonstrating best pitch winning practice
  • Build relationships with senior prospect decision makers and key intermediaries and influencers
  • Seek to secure new clients from the network; champion the cascading of US clients
  • Build a high calibre and motivated team; inspire an excellent culture where people can thrive professionally and personally; manage and motivate direct reports, setting and reviewing goals
  • Lead on employee communications, presenting aims/objectives and goals
  • Present the strategic face of the agency to external audiences through speaker opportunities, interviews with the media, social media presence, etc
  • Be a collaborative, encouraging, supportive member of the agency’s global leadership team.

About You

Ambitious, dynamic and driven, you are passionate about growing a P&L. You have experience of developing and running a profitable integrated, marketing or PR agency or large practice. You are a strategic thinker with the ability to develop insights/data-led creative campaigns that engage diverse stakeholders on multiple channels. Your business network is strong. You have a track record of winning major accounts as well as of retention and organic growth of existing clients. Most of all, you are a charismatic leader who can motivate a team to excel. Thriving on a challenging remit, you strive to exceed goals and deliver clear and measurable results.

Additional Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of the marketing comms industry and emerging trends and technologies - using this to inform strategy, direction and investment
  • Diverse background - experience integrating digital marketing with PR, content, broader marketing
  • International B2C and B2B campaign experience; tech sector experience helpful
  • High level of commercial acumen; proven track record of successful P&L management and of driving optimum business performance
  • Led large teams - can inspire bright, creative and ambitious people; a collaborative team builder
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills (gravitas “in the room”)
  • Ability to problem solve, project manage, prioritize and multi-task – a “sleeves rolled up” mentality
  • Integrity, humility, self-drive/initiative – and a sense of humor!

The expected salary range for the EVP, US position is between $250K - $350K. Base annual salary is determined by factors such as location, experience, and expertise. We provide relocation support to help you settle into your new role and city.
