Your Role Explained:


As a Senior leader in the claim organization, this position will lead the auto physical damage and non-injury investigative teams. This position will create the vision and strategy for the first notice of loss process through completion of all auto physical damage exposures for the claim operation. Establishes claims practices and policies and ensures thorough claims investigations, settlements and excellent service for our customers. Ensures compliance with regulatory and company standards and provides technical guidance as required.


  • Functional Claims Management: Manages claims activities which may include company-wide units such as: Property, injury, subrogation, litigation, material damage, PIP/Medical Pay, and total loss. Develops claims strategies in conjunction with other senior Claims management personnel to ensure successful department results.
  • Staff Management: Recruits, selects, and trains employees in order to meet department objectives. Establishes performance goals, expectations and monitors those results. Provides performance feedback, coaching, and corrective action, as needed. Provides mentoring and coaching for direct and indirect reports.
  • Policies & Practices: Develops and implements Claims practices, policies and procedures which ensure thorough claims investigations, settlements, and legal reviews; protects the integrity of our brand and provides consistent service quality.
  • File Management: Manages reserve levels and disbursements within specified authority levels. Advises employees on difficult and complex cases and makes decisions on settlements exceeding the subordinates' authority.
  • Budget: Develops and manages budget to meet department financial objectives. Identifies and resolves extra-contractual exposures to protect company assets.
  • Other duties as required: Job may require fulfilling other incidental or related duties as assigned, assisting and training others, and performing duties of higher rated positions from time to time for developmental purposes.


Business Experience:

  • 10 years of experience handling Property and casualty claims
  • 5 years of Managing a functional claims operation


Certifications

  • Required: Ability to obtain and maintain state insurance licensing as required.
  • Preferred: Professional designations in the insurance industry, such as AIC or CPCU preferred.


Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent


Other Requirements:

  • Some travel may be required
  • For this position we offer a flexible schedule within the department operating hours of 8:00 am to 6:30 pm MT, with collaborating hours between 10:00 am to 3:00 pm MT.
  • Colorado Springs Service center is preferred but will consider remote candidates



The pay range for this position is $104,728 - $167,981 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience. The company also offers a full range of medical, financial and other benefits, including eligibility for the company’s performance sharing plan and paid time off such as holidays, vacation, sick and personal holidays.
