Description

We are seeking an experienced QA Tester to ensure the quality and reliability of a critical government web application undergoing modernization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing methodologies, automation, and quality assurance processes, with experience in both legacy and modern software environments.

Location: DC Metro Area

Core Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for legacy and new system components
  • Design and implement automated test suites to ensure system reliability and performance
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing
  • Collaborate with developers to identify and resolve software defects
  • Verify data integrity during database migrations and system updates
  • Conduct security and compliance testing to ensure adherence to government standards.
  • Document and report test results, including detailed bug reports
  • 8. Participate in code reviews from a quality assurance perspective
  • Assist in defining and improving QA processes and methodologies

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications;

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Science, or related field.
  • 5 years of professional software testing experience.
  • Strong experience with manual and automated testing methodologies is a must.
  • Experience testing web applications and database-driven systems
  • Familiarity with Government software development and testing processes.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to think critically
  • Proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks
  • Good understanding of software development life cycle
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Adaptability to changing technologies and requirements
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with testing Oracle PL/SQL based systems.
  • Knowledge of NoSQL database testing.
  • Familiarity with microservice testing environments.
  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks testing.
  • Automation for web application benchmarking and scripted testing.
  • Testing systems in a closed-network environment.

Security Clearance Requirement

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Level security clearance.
