Position Overview
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Salem's Fresh Eats will be a pivotal figure in ensuring the seamless operation and strategic growth of our brand across multiple locations. This role requires a dynamic leader who excels in operational management, quality control, and strategic execution. The COO will work closely with the CEO to drive the company’s vision and operational success, ensuring that every Salem's Fresh Eats location delivers exceptional service and quality.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the company’s goals.
- Work with the CEO to drive growth and expansion plans.
- Lead the company in operational excellence, quality, and efficiency.
- Oversee daily operations across all Salem's Fresh Eats locations.
- Ensure consistency and quality in service delivery and product offerings.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational improvements.
- Develop and enforce quality control standards across all locations.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Address quality issues and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Manage the company's operational budget and financial performance.
- Analyze financial data to make informed business decisions.
- Implement cost control measures without compromising quality.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing management team.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and productive work environment.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide actionable feedback.
- Ensure all locations deliver outstanding customer service.
- Develop initiatives to enhance the customer experience.
- Address customer feedback and complaints effectively.
- Identify areas for operational improvement and efficiency.
- Implement process improvements to enhance productivity.
- Utilize technology and innovation to streamline operations.
- Lead initiatives for new location openings and market expansion.
- Evaluate potential business opportunities and partnerships.
- Ensure successful integration of new locations into the company.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and operational integrity.
- Proven experience as a COO or in a similar senior executive role, preferably in the food service industry.
- Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of quality control procedures and operational best practices.
- Financial acumen and experience managing budgets and financial performance.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field is required; an MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior management role, with a track record of success in operational management and quality control.
- Demonstrated experience in managing multiple locations and leading large teams.
- This role requires frequent travel between multiple locations.
- Flexibility in working hours, including availability on weekends and holidays as needed.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make critical decisions.
