YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Supply Chain Planning to lead our North American operations. This role will oversee all aspects of forecasting and demand planning, inventory planning, and sales, inventory, and operations planning (SIOP) to ensure seamless and efficient supply chain operations aligned with our strategic business objectives.

The Director of Supply Chain Planning will drive the overall planning activities within the supply chain, encompassing demand forecasting, inventory management, and coordination with sales and marketing. This role involves strategic leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement to optimize supply chain efficiency and effectiveness.

Job Description:

Forecasting and Demand Planning:

  • Lead the development and implementation of market analysis, data analytics, and product life cycle management to generate accurate demand forecasts.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to incorporate insights and promotional activities into demand planning.
  • Utilize advanced forecasting tools and methodologies to enhance prediction accuracy and reliability.

Inventory Planning:

  • Develop and implement optimization models, safety stock levels, and replenishment strategies.
  • Classify and prioritize inventory to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize holding costs.
  • Oversee vendor selection and evaluation to maintain a robust and responsive supply chain.
  • Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP):
  • Drive integrated business planning and capacity planning to align with overall business goals.
  • Set and monitor inventory level targets and engage in scenario planning to anticipate and mitigate potential disruptions.
  • Lead SKU rationalization efforts to streamline product offerings and enhance supply chain efficiency.

Supply Chain Coordination and Compliance:

  • Manage operational supplier relationships and ensure cross-functional coordination to achieve seamless supply chain execution.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and implement sustainability initiatives to support corporate social responsibility goals.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies and proposing innovative solutions.
  • Keep abreast of the latest trends and advancements in supply chain planning to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and adjust strategies to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs)

Team Management and Development:

  • Clearly define roles and responsibilities for team members and align them with departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and structured training to develop team capabilities.
  • Promote a collaborative atmosphere that encourages knowledge sharing and collective problem-solving.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Engage with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, finance, and operations, to ensure cohesive supply chain execution.
  • Collaborate with senior management to align supply chain planning activities with company objectives.

YOUR PROFILE

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field. An advanced degree or MBA is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 13+ years of progressive experience in supply chain planning roles with a track record of leadership.
  • Experience in international settings and managing large, complex supply chain operations.

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in supply chain software and platforms, including ERP systems and demand forecasting tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive actionable insights from data.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong business relationships.
  • Proven problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in the industrial or chemical manufacturing or distribution industry, particularly those that are multinational or global distributors and operate in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills are essential. Skills in Spanish or other languages are a plus.

Travel:

  • Approximately 10% - 30% domestic and international travel required.
