The role:

SoFi is seeking a Strategic Program Manager to join SoFi’s Controllership Team, reporting to our Chief Accounting Officer. In this role, you will partner cross-functionally to lead transformation projects and improvements throughout the Controllership organization. The Strategic Program Manager will play a key role in scaling the finance operations by managing strategic projects across the organization aimed at modernizing, accelerating, and enhancing financial processes. This role plays a critical role in the department's relentless pursuit of enhancing the efficiency, clarity and accuracy of financial information and ensuring our processes are industry leading. You should have a proven ability to build relationships/partnerships and work cross-functionally to drive time-sensitive deliverables, issues tracking, and reporting.

What you’ll do:


  • Drive transformation that is in alignment with the Controllership organization’s strategy, goals, and technology roadmap
  • Partner with Controllership teams to drive process and system improvements to enable the organization to effectively and efficiently scale operations.
  • Orchestrate large-scale, cross-functional projects, coordinating seamlessly between diverse teams to ensure successful execution and delivery time
  • Responsible for tracking and understanding projects from original concept through final implementation, while preparing and presenting high-level reports on overall program progress, gaps, and key highlights to leadership
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables and develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation
  • Conduct regular project status meetings and provide updates to stakeholders and senior management
  • Utilize project management tools and techniques to monitor and track project progress
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between technical and non-technical teams to achieve project objectives
  • Work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to align efforts and drive organizational goals
  • Prepare agendas, briefings, and materials for leadership meetings; track action items and follow up on deliverables


What you’ll need:


  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Information Systems or a related degree
  • 5+ years of progressive experience and a proven record of leading programs and business management that combines strategic thinking with tactical execution
  • Public company experience in a fast-growing global company
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects, priorities and complete objectives on time
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully leading large transformational implementations
  • Experienced in project management & system process analysis skills
  • Ability to develop documentation for training and user procedures
  • Ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision both written and verbally and strong presentation skills
  • Ability to break down challenges/opportunities, build a strategy, write an action plan, identify resources, and project-manage to completion
  • High EQ to build relationships across all levels, departments, and personality types to lead without direct reporting lines
  • Track record of performance in a high-growth, dynamic environment
  • Bias toward action, strong analytical skills, and solid business judgment
  • Eagerness to roll up your sleeves to get things done (even the unglamorous things)
  • Ability to balance and prioritize multiple work streams for different stakeholders
  • Passion to learn, responsibly grow our business, and support our mission of helping members get their money right


Nice to have:


  • Experience in management consulting, fintech, banking/ financial services
  • PMP, CPA, MBA
  • Fluent in Spanish

The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, and location.
