The Facilities Maintenance position is an integral member of the Estates & Services department, reporting directly to the Facilities Manager. This role is responsible for hands-on maintenance tasks, repairs, and preserving the value and assets of multiple residential estates and commercial properties.
What You Get To Do
Key responsibilities include completing preventative maintenance tasks, updating routine checklists, and coordinating and scheduling specialized third-party vendors and subject matter experts. Additional duties are assigned by the management team to ensure the safety, security, and functionality of properties, adhering to high standards and defined expectations. This role requires a high level of discretion and the ability to work in a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment.
Core Responsibilities

- Assist in overseeing all property maintenance and initiatives to ensure in-scope, on-time delivery within budget parameters.
- Oversee warehouse operations, including developing processes to enhance efficiencies.
- Conduct routine interior and exterior inspections of residential and commercial properties, grounds, and vehicles to ensure proper operation, maintenance, and cleanliness.
- Track, recommend, and schedule services and repairs as directed.
- Assist with administering health and life-safety programs, CAL-OSHA compliance, and related training.
- Partner with subject matter experts and contract vendors (e.g., plumbers, electricians, technology engineers, real estate project managers, and landscaping crews) to realize new efficiencies and improved productivity.
- Schedule, document, and investigate ongoing preventative maintenance of all equipment on properties to ensure proper operation, safety, and longevity.
- Troubleshoot issues, establish facts, and communicate findings effectively.
- Ensure that all advanced household systems are checked and tested on a regular schedule (e.g., appliances, A/V, HVAC, lighting, gates, garage doors).
- Maintain multiple inventories and stock to ensure quick replacement (e.g., light bulbs, batteries, filters, and other consumable items).
- Demonstrate a hospitality mindset by collaborating with household and other business partner teams, championing the Facility Manager’s initiatives and improvement processes.
- Assist with event setup/breakdown, planning, and coordination.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and privacy, using sound judgment to protect the privacy of clients.
- Reconcile company-provided credit card transactions and reports following all defined company policies and procedures.
- May oversee the daily work activities of contract staff and/or vendors but does not directly manage employees.
Education: Associate degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in Facilities Maintenance, construction, or a comparable trade.
- Knowledge of all building trades and advanced critical thinking/problem-solving skills for addressing maintenance issues.
- Highly proficient in using MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel). Familiarity with CMMS software.
- Experience working with smart home systems.
- Ability to perform a variety of duties, often switching from one task to another with frequent distractions.
- Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact appropriately with colleagues.
- Ability to synthesize information and efficiently troubleshoot.
- Ability to communicate clearly, accurately, and concisely in both written and verbal forms.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Demonstrate a positive, friendly, and professional attitude with coworkers, clients, and the public.
- Constantly strive for improvements in work processes and outcomes to better meet client expectations.

- Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
- Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions (non-weather), work near moving mechanical parts, work in high places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Medium to heavy work: exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, manual dexterity, handling objects, and reaching.
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, night vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- May be required to climb tall ladders, balance, crouch, squat, kneel, stoop, or crawl.
Expected Hours of Work: This position requires availability for on-call shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Background Review/Interview: Must be able to satisfy background check and related requirements.
Must be able to work for a US based company without requiring visa sponsorship.
Compensation And Benefits
- Hourly contract rate range of $48.00 to $52.00 based on experience and qualifications, as well as geographical market and business considerations.
