The Corporate Group is aligned across its functions to provide superior services and value-added resource and financial management that seamlessly support our clients' and the Bank's objectives.
The Corporate Real Estate Function is responsible for coordinating, integrating and administering a range of diverse real estate functions to support the safety and resiliency of the Bank’s operations. The Bank’s real estate portfolio is approximately 1.6 million square feet consisting of three owned assets two of which are 24 x 7 mission critical facilities. Areas of responsibility include planning, managing, repairing and maintaining the Bank's facilities, infrastructure and grounds to ensure the safety and security of the Bank's employees, customers, visitors, tenants and property.
Your role as Head of Real Estate Strategy & Capital Management:
The Head of Real Estate Strategy & Capital Management has a span of responsibility associated with the management of the real estate portfolio of the NY Fed inclusive of its strategic orientation with the Bank, workplace strategy, and capital improvement programs/projects as well as real estate controls program.
What we are looking for:
Senior leader with corporate real estate, project management, workplace design, and controls acumen.
- Extensive experience in corporate real estate and workplace design management or Real Estate Program Management.
- Extensive experience in capital improvement management / in leading the planning, design and construction of mission critical facilities.
- Experience in a real estate development/workplace design role.
- Senior leader with proven leadership skills across people management, complex problem management, collaboration, influencing, decision making, judgement and project execution.
- Leader with proven ability to communicate complex problems to senior stakeholders and executives.
- Proven experience building and managing diverse teams.
- Proven track record of collaboration and influence across complex organizations.
- Oversees real estate strategic planning, design and project management for a 1.6 million square foot portfolio housing approximately 3,000 staff.
- Responsible for providing executive oversight to overall office layout and interior design, all aspects of the general office aesthetics and ensuring that all lighting, electrical and ergonomic requirements are met as well as allocation of office space to meet the Bank’s business requirements.
- Responsible for the executive oversight of significant project portfolio on a bank-wide scale.
- Responsible for operational planning, capital budgeting and forecasting of the real estate project portfolio.
- Oversight of a diverse staff of approximately 22 across multiple locations coupled with indirect vendor resources such as moving services, etc.
- Lead and direct Bank or System engagements, tasks forces, workgroups, etc., pertaining to issues relevant to Real Estate, and provide thought leadership to various levels of the organization and the Federal Reserve System.
- Build relationships and maintain effective communication and coordination across the Bank, other Reserve Banks, the Board of Governors, vendors, industry groups while ensuring the interests of the Bank and System are served.
- Oversees the Real Estate Controls Program which includes project controls, CRE’s facility condition assessment and indexing as well as management of the CRE Compliance manual, risk tracking and reporting, etc.

- Capability to establish performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
- Communication and Collaboration: o Manage a team of internal and external resources to provide excellent planning, design and construction services. o Engage with senior executives and other personnel to communicate real estate and workplace strategies, projects status and proactively solicit feedback regarding customer satisfaction levels.
- Financial Acumen:
- Understanding of budgeting, cost control, and financial management.
- Experience coordinating payments and managing project expenses.
- Understanding market conditions, inflation, and escalations of budgets.
- Risk Management:
- Proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation.
- Ability to develop strategies to address potential project challenges.

Salary Range: $ 275000 - $325000 / year
