Engineering Manager

- Serve as the engineering leader and technical expert on products and services.
- Provide technical assistance, i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction and manufacturing methods as required.
- Lead development of new designs and size existing designs for custom applications using 2D CAD and 3D Autodesk Inventor software. Create, update, and maintain drawings/models
- Lead Engineering team in development of CAM and CNC programing. Ensure systems are maintained and accurate per specifications.
- Develop accurate bill of materials (BOM) for products to be manufactured.
- Create installation instructions for new products and existing products
- Prepare Department of State technical reviews and ensure accuracy of submittals.
- Manage change orders from customers to ensure specifications are met on time.
- Lead research and development initiatives through the new product induction process.
- Serve as liaison between the Engineering team and the Production team
- Communicate with operations to ensure accurate and timely processing of orders in design
- Problem solve design issues on the shop floor to support smooth flow of operations.
- Create detailed engineering plans, processes, and procedures for engineering staff.
- Demonstrate safe work practice.
- Other projects and tasks as assigned by direct manager.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Security Clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of experience.
- 10+ years of Engineering experience within a Manufacturing environment.
- 5+ years of leadership experience in Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience with programming CNC machines
- Experience with storefront and curtain wall systems.
- Ability to read architectural blueprints is required.
- Knowledge of door hardware packages is a plus.
- Knowledge of 3D modeling software (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, etc.)
- Understanding of drafting standards (dimensioning, etc.)
- Understanding of production process and knowledge of materials
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Leadership skills necessary to manage and develop an engineering team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with all departments
