Medical Director

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Establish guidelines for the medical care delivery by all providers. Directly supervises the quality of medical care provided by providers.

  • Develops and conducts monthly provider meetings.
  • Serves as Chair of the Quality Assurance Committee –
  • Participates in provider recruitment in coordination with the Executive Director and Human Resources.
  • Participates in administrative activities in coordination with the Executive Director
  • Provides input to Executive Director on annual performance appraisals for all providers.
  • Provides/Coordinates evening and weekend coverage for patients on a rotational basis.
  • Participates in representing CHCGD as Medical Director as deemed necessary by the Executive Director.
  • Establishes and maintains professional working relationship with all members of the health care team.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills.
  • Participates in planning and problem solving, within the management team structure.
  • Participates in continuing education and professional growth
  • Provides leadership and encourages provider participation at regularly scheduled meetings.
  • Develops and executes peer review activities in conjunction with providers.
  • Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, personnel and medical policies and procedures.
  • Provides leadership for compliance with regulatory requirements and applicable federal, state, and local laws.
  • Provides leadership in evaluating and improving daily operations such as patient flow, scheduling and access to improve patient satisfaction.
  • Serves as role model for clinical staff
  • Has direct authority over lab services
  • Provides budgetary guidance on purchases of medical equipment and supplies.

Qualifications

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of medicine.
  • Completion of a residency program in a primary care area such as Internal Medicine, Family Practice, or Pediatrics.
  • Current DEA certificate
  • Current hospital admitting privileges and credentials (as set forth in the Employment Agreement).
  • Current insurance privileges and credentials.
  • Valid Ohio license
  • Current BLS Certification.

Work Hours: Medical Director and Provider hours scheduled as needed.

Travel: up to 50% , mainly local. Occasional overnight travel required.
