Base pay range
The Deputy Chief Operating Officer (Deputy COO) will be based in TCW’s Los Angeles Office and is a critical new position that will help define and manage the future operating model for TCW and will be key to driving transformational growth across the business. The Deputy COO will report to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and will work closely with senior leaders across the firm including operations, technology, compliance, communications, legal, HR, investments and sales to serve as a key point of contact to help operate the business. This is a highly visible role with an opportunity to make an impact across the business.
Essential Duties
- Partner with senior leaders across the organization including operations, technology, compliance, legal, HR, investments and sales to serve as a key point of contact to help operate the business
- Prioritize and lead large scale projects designed to transform the business
- Drive efficiencies and cost containment initiatives
- Conduct initiatives to strengthen governance, organizational structure, and processes
- Develop location strategy and build out of other offices in partnership with CFO and facilities team
- Evaluate and partner with external vendors to drive efficiencies and utilize best practices
- Lead initiatives to understand data architecture and develop a data strategy in concert with key stakeholders across the organization
- Partner with key teams on regulatory initiatives
- Manage team of project managers focused on execution
- Collaborate with CFO on administrative and budgeting exercises
- Partner with Human Resources to recruit talent, build teams and navigate personnel matters
- Lead and influence people to drive positive outcomes for the organization
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- 12+ years of experience overseeing multiple business operations; technology operations and investment operations experience highly preferred
- Experience working with executive management team
- Demonstrated experience in leading high performing teams

- Creates a sense of purpose/meaning for the team that generates followership and engages others to the greater purpose for the organization as a whole
- Strong, active external network to continually bring both innovation and ways to succeed at scale into the organization.
Base Salary: For CA based position, the base salary range is $300k to $350k. This is an anticipated range only.
Other Compensation: Eligible to be considered for an annual discretionary bonus
