This position will oversee the efficient movement of goods within our transportation network. The role will be responsible for coordinating assets, managing logistics, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and maintaining regulatory standards. Involved with the daily interaction between the Logistics department and Warehouses (3PL and non-3PL), Customer Care and international customers.




DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


Transportation Management:

  • Oversee the daily transportation operations, including route planning, scheduling, and execution.
  • Collaborate with carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
  • Monitor transportation performance metrics and implement process improvements.

Logistics:

  • Must be experienced in working with WMS, TMS and ERP systems. Should have a solid understanding of how such systems are applied in practice to continuously improve various business processes, drive growth, and deliver value to the customer and to the business.
  • Experience in an ISO 9001 certified facility and/or SQF level 2 or 3

Personnel Management:

  • Directly and indirectly supervise transportation staff.
  • Establish an effective organization with very good employee engagement.
  • Analyze expenditures and financial information to enhance profitability and services.
  • Ensure compliance in both internal and external contracted warehouses, with transportation-related administrative policies, safety rules, governmental regulations, and industry standards.

Contract Negotiation:

  • Negotiate and secure contracts with transportation providers and customers.

Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:

  • Must have full working knowledge of transportation regulations including DOT, IMDG, and IATA. Certification will be required.
  • Maintain company registration as a hazardous shipper with DOT.
  • Understanding of QSHA and EPA requirements to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols, hazardous materials handling, and environmental regulations.
  • Implement and monitor compliance programs.
  • Conduct internal audits and address any non-compliance issues promptly.
  • Establishes policies and procedures for import and export management.


EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a logistics environment for hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
  • Experienced in the International Shipment of Hazardous goods.
  • Experience in an ISO 9001 certified facility preferred and/or SQF level 2 or 3.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Must be experienced in working with Warehouse Management Systems and ERP systems. Should have a solid understanding of how WMS together with APICS principles are applied in practice to continuously improve various business processes, drive growth and deliver value to the customer and to the business.
  • Must have a strong ability to delegate effectively and manage multiple priorities through the structure reporting to this position.
  • Must be able to communicate at a professional level both verbally and written.
  • Experienced in managing 3PL warehouse, logistics and service providers.


EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain or related field.
  • APICS Certification Preferred.

  • The incumbent must be a proven leader who demonstrates strong communication, analytical and management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage several projects through completion while providing high attention to details
  • Must be able to read, interpret and document import and export records.
  • Mathematical skills must be at a high level of competency including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages and ratios.
  • Must be able to file Electronic Export Information (EFI) in Automated Commercial Environment (ACE).
