Forward Tampa Bay is currently seeking an Executive Director
The ideal candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in political science, public administration, or a related field (Advance degree preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of experience in political advocacy, government relations, or executive support roles.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Executive Director to provide executive support and leadership to the Chairman of Forward Tampa Bay (“FTB”). The Executive Director will play a critical role in assisting the Chairman leadership, overseeing key initiatives, and facilitating communication and collaboration across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational abilities, exceptional communication skills, and a deep understanding of political processes and advocacy.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Support
- Provide strategic counsel and support to the Chairman on all matters related to FTB operations and initiatives.
- Assist in the development and implementation of strategic plans to advance FTB’s mission and objectives.
- Conduct research and analysis on political issues, legislation, and policy proposals to inform decision-making.
Executive Management
- Prepare briefing materials, presentations, and reports for the Chairman, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
- Serve as a liaison between the Chairman and internal staff, external partners, and stakeholders.
Project and Initiative Oversight
- Oversee key projects and initiatives on behalf of the Chairman, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and work groups to achieve project objectives and milestones.
- Monitor progress, identify challenges, and recommend solutions to address issues as they arise.
Communications and Relationship Management
- Manage communications on behalf of the Chairman, including drafting correspondence, speeches, and talking points.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, supporters, elected officials, and other stakeholders.
- Represent the Chairman and FTB at meetings, events, and public forums as needed.
Administrative Support
- Coordinate administrative functions as they relate to FTB’s operational needs, including budget management, procurement, and record-keeping.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of political processes, campaign finance laws, and advocacy strategies.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences.
- Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to the mission and values of FTB.
Education and Technical Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in political science, public administration, or a related field (Advance degree preferred).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in political advocacy, government relations, or executive support roles.
