Position Overview

As the Director of Global Early Careers and Development Programs, you will lead the strategic overhaul of our early career initiatives, ensuring they are robust, innovative, and aligned with the evolving market needs. Your leadership will be crucial in creating an engaging, inclusive, and future-proofed talent pipeline that supports our global business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive global early career strategy that aligns with Medtronic’s business goals and market positioning.
  • Design and implement innovative recruitment strategies to attract top early career talent, leveraging strategic partnerships with key universities and diversity organizations.
  • Partner with executive leaders, including the VP of Global Talent Acquisition, BU Presidents, and HR leadership, to champion early career initiatives.
  • Oversee the selection, onboarding, and development processes to ensure a seamless and enriching experience for early career hires.
  • Collaborate with Global Learning and Leadership Development to create rotational and development programs that foster career growth and retention.
  • Work closely with the Global Inclusion, Diversity, and Engagement (GIDE) team to enhance diversity in early career recruitment and development.
  • Implement targeted initiatives to increase representation and inclusion across all early career programs.
  • Utilize data and analytics to measure the success of early career initiatives and continuously improve program effectiveness.
  • Track and report on key metrics, including budget, ROI, and diversity outcomes, to inform strategic decisions.
  • Lead a team of approximately 18 professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
  • Ensure consistency and alignment of early career programs across global regions, addressing regional-specific needs and challenges.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements to ensure Medtronic’s early career programs are cutting-edge.
  • Benchmark against best practices beyond the MedTech sector to continuously evolve our approach.


Immediate Key Priorities:

  • Evolve strategic core school partnerships with key universities to enhance Medtronic’s brand and attract top early career talent.
  • Leverage HBCU partnerships to enhance Medtronic’s outreach and engagement at diversity fairs, branding events, and philanthropic activities.
  • Establish and optimize a comprehensive US Sales Internship Program across portfolios of the Medtronic business to build a robust pipeline of future sales leaders.


Qualifications

Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience, or Advanced Degree with 8+ years of experience, in talent acquisition, talent management, strategic workforce planning, or related fields.
  • 7+ years of people leadership experience, including managing managers, with a proven track record of team alignment and performance.
  • Deep expertise in campus recruitment strategies, particularly for technology, engineering, R&D, finance, supply chain, and MBA programs across multiple geographies.


Nice to Have:

  • Experience scaling early career programs in a multinational technology company, ideally within the enterprise software, robotics, or machine learning sectors.
  • Proven success in creating and implementing diversity-focused strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead high-performing teams.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$168,000.00 - $252,000.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan.
