Applications are invited for the position of Manager, Scheduling in the Enrolment Services Division, located at the Welland Campus. The salary range is $85,529 to $106,911 for a 35 hour work week. Additional hours may be required as necessary.

Reporting to the Director, Enrolment Services – Systems and Reporting, the successful candidate is accountable for the overall management of the college’s academic classrooms and labs, in relation to the creation of student and faculty timetables, in a multi-term, multi-campus environment for all academic programming. The incumbent will develop and continue to establish and implement processes, strategies and set priorities for the department that are consistent with the college’s priorities. This role ensures the effective operations by optimal planning and utilization of departmental resources in accordance with the college’s practices to provide optimal service and achieve maximum efficiencies.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Co-designing and overseeing the framework and principles that direct scheduling decisions, client responses, service delivery and assessment
  • Providing leadership to the scheduling team to ensure that academic course timetables are produced within critical deadlines, are free of conflict, align with collective agreements and college policy, approved instructor accommodations and physical space constraints
  • Leading the timely creation of scheduling data in the Student Information System (SIS) in order to meet faculty assignment requirements for Standard Workload Formula (SWF) and contract faculty creation
  • Managing projects within the scope of the Scheduling Department, as well as developing and maintaining documentation on all new projects and business process updates and their resulting functionality within the portfolio
  • Providing leadership to scheduling team
  • Primary contact responsible for analysing and resolving any major scheduling issues

Qualifications:

  • Minimum three (3) year degree/diploma in information management, logistics, operations management, business, computer programming, or similar field of study
  • Minimum five (5) years experience working in the higher education sector with knowledge in Infosilem
  • In-depth knowledge of Niagara College’s educational structures and policies
  • Advanced supervisory, administrative, leadership and change management skills
  • Demonstrated experience with student records systems in a relational networked computer environment, complimented by knowledge of scheduling issues and related academic and administrative functions in a postsecondary institution or relational databases in a similar environment
  • Advanced organizational and planning skills
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing large volumes of data
  • Experience leading a team, including the ability to provide feedback and support development
