Base pay range

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
  • 2 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch.
  • 2 years of experience working with cross functional teams.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a technology or business related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in a business function or role (e.g., strategic marketing, business operations, consulting).
  • 2 years of experience working cross-functionally with engineering, UX/UI, sales, finance, and other stakeholders.
  • 2 years of experience in preparing and delivering technical presentations to senior leadership.
  • 1 year of experience in software development or engineering.
  • Experience with recommender systems, ideally within e-commerce or merchandising.

In this role, you will work cross-functionally to guide products from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds. You can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development.

Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

In this role you will improve the quality of our podcast recommendation systems across YouTube Main, on living room devices and in the YouTube Music application. You will help grow podcast watch time by introducing more users to new podcasts and deepening their engagement with their favorite shows.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$178,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Define product direction and success metrics partnering closely with podcasts leads and understand ranking and metrics to navigate the team through prioritization decisions and weigh trade-offs needed to land significant positive user impact.
  • Develop and lead a disciplined product development process, driving product insights and outstanding execution
  • Develop a deep understanding of the user and creator value that podcast discovery and recommendations can offer. Apply careful analysis to identify solutions balancing user impact, creator benefit and YouTube priorities.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams including extended workforce teams across YouTube to ensure that Podcasts corpus understanding and ranking changes are well understood.
  • Communicate discovery and recommendations strategy including technical details to executives and non-technical audiences.
