ABOUT The ROLE

The newly created role of Accounting Manager: responsible for preparing financial information in line with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), ensuring strong financial controls are in place, interpret operational and financial data. Collaborate across departments to provide valuable business insights.

Experience/Skills Required

• Bachelor’s degree in financial accounting, or similar
• A minimum of five (5) years work experience in accounting, audit, tax or similar environment
• Work experience involving application of US GAAP, overseeing a financial close process, preparing consolidated financial statements, and involvement with tax compliance activities
• Expert proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Outlook
• Experience working with Oracle Financials, SAP, JD Edwards or other enterprise accounting system
• Writing reports (financial statement footnotes, accounting memos)
• Strong communication skills
  
  

Experience/Skills Preferred

• Active CPA license (strongly Preferred)
• Two (2) plus years at senior accountant or manager level
• General experience with PowerPoint, and database reporting tools such as Cyberquery is a plus
• Experience working with multiple currencies and foreign entities a plus
• Travel and hospitality experience a plus
  
  

RESPONSIBILITIES (6-7 Concise Bullet Points)

The Accounting Manager will report to the Director, Accounting and Tax and is responsible for the following results:

• Financial Reporting and Accounting:
• Assist the Director of Accounting and Tax to ensure day-to-day and transactional accounting is accurate and in accordance with US GAAP
• Perform accounting research and propose accounting treatment for transactions
• Coordinate and manage the month-end and year-end financial close process to ensure close is completed timely and all month-end and year-end reporting to the group parent company is accurate and timely
• Be point of contact for and work with external auditors to complete audits or similar engagements
• Performing analysis of financial reports.
• Support the Director, Accounting and Tax to ensure overall compliance with required tax filings
• Share ideas for process improvements that can improve departmental flexibility and reduce administrative costs
• Coaching and developing associates by assisting with various accounting issues, questions, and reporting as well as enforcing company policies and procedures
• Perform such duties as may be assigned to from time to time. The position is one that places a premium on one’s ability to adjust their daily and monthly schedule as the role evolves.
  

About The Department

The Finance department is overseen by the Chief Financial Officer. Our mission is to both protect and grow the business. The department consists of three groups: (1) Treasury (including Revenue Accounting and Payroll), (2) Forecasting, Planning & Analysis (including Cost Accounting and Budgeting) and (3) Accounting and Tax (including Financial Accounting, Tax, Accounts Payable, and Oracle Financial System Support). The department is responsible for providing strategic insight and supporting our strategic imperatives through several critical processes including the monthly, quarterly, and annual publishing of financial results, preparing travel agent commissions, processing vendor invoices, credit card processing, tax and accounting compliance, treasury, cost accounting, completing operational transactions, and financial analysis.
