Overview

Responsible for the direction of clinical services as well as the operational and financial management for High Acuity Care patient services. This role ensures adherence to federal, state, and local laws, accreditation, company policies, JV requirements. Accountable for measuring, monitoring, and achieving key performance indicators and organizational clinical performance. This role provides supervision to the clinical manager(s) and/or team leads who ensure the delivery of quality care to patients. Responsible for analyzing, recommending, and implementing clinical and operational improvement opportunities for the high acuity care program.

Full Time: Monday-Friday

Pay: $130,000-$150,000

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the care center's compliance with all regulations, laws, policies and procedures. Educates all staff members about state, federal, and accreditation requirements (as applicable). Maintains compliance with all local, state and federal laws regarding licensure and certification of care center personnel and accreditation standards.
  • Oversees and directs the activities of the Clinical Manager and or Team Leads, in partnership with the Director of Home Recovery Care, in the provision and coordination of nursing and therapy services for patient care.
  • Implements and maintains appropriate clinician staffing levels and ensures clinician productivity standards are met to achieve JV goals. Identifies and mitigates risks and strategically solves for clinical operational process & procedure issues in collaboration with JV partners, operations, and regional partners.
  • Promotes and maintains standards for providing quality patient care by all care center staff.
  • Participates in strategic planning and informational meetings with JV partners and provides clinical and operational review for existing programs
  • Oversees and contributes to the development of clinical skills competencies and assessments in accordance with regulatory guidelines and clinical standards of care.
  • Accountable for coordination and decision making on hiring, onboarding, orienting, training, and developing Clinical Managers as well as nursing and therapy staff.
  • Ensures Clinical Manager and clinician orientation and trainings occur per company standards.
  • Provides oversight of and/or administers annual skills competency evaluation.
  • Provides oversight and approval of payroll in accordance with current pay practices.
  • Adheres to company policies and procedures and HIPAA/ Privacy Program, Compliance Program, and Code of Conduct and Ethics.
  • Participates in on call process, administrator on-call rotation, preparing on-call schedule, supporting the on-call process and providing direct patient care as warranted.
  • In collaboration with the Administrator, JV, and Director of Home Recovery Care, ensures implementation of a performance improvement program to drive quality care, patient outcomes, and address negative trends. Ensures issues and deficiencies identified during internal or external surveys and audits are addressed and corrected
  • Contributes insights to improve clinical programs, processes, and technology.
  • Collaborates with Care Center Administrator, Director of Operations, Area Vice President of Clinical and or Operations in the implementation of clinical operations standards and processes.
  • Produces and reports both internally and externally on clinical performance.
  • Ensures compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory mandates including but not limited to abiding to the terms of the Amedisys Compliance Program.
  • Monitors and evaluates employee performance. Holds employees accountable for the attainment of defined goals and objectives. Executes effective performance redirection when needed. Develops employees through coaching, mentoring, and formal/on the job training and development opportunities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Current, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse specific to the state the employee is assigned to work by the company.
  • Five (5+) years of adult acute inpatient medical or medical surgical care experience.
  • Three (3+) years of experience in clinical leadership/management in healthcare.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Reliable transportation and company required liability insurance.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred:

  • Experience in the development and execution of clinical programs and practice guidelines and standards.
  • Advanced nursing degree.
  • Practical knowledge of home health and high acuity industry and related clinical practice.
