Description: About this opportunity

The Operations Controller plans, implements, and supervises all operational accounting functions and staff for the US/EMEA business units, provides oversight of the APAC business units, and provides oversight of operational finance system s, processes, standards, and procedures. The Operations Controller is responsible for the financial/accounting activities, audits, documentation, etc. related to Revenue and Cost accounting. Responsible for ensuring all relevant project/contract and customer data and reports are accurate, consistent, timely, and made available to operations and project management on a routine and as-needed basis. Manages invoice processing, account collection activities and project accounting responsibilities. This position reports to the CAO.

Job Responsibilities: What you will do.

  • Establishes accounting policies, particularly related to Revenue recognition and Cost accounting and ensures compliance and consistency across the organization.
  • Manages individually and through their team all accounting procedures related to operations. Oversight of AR/collections team, Cost accountant and Revenue manager.
  • Drives change, as needed, to ensure compliance to GAAP/SOX, reviewing and delivering recommendations for continuous improvement, and clearly communicating relevant fiscal information to executive management.
  • Actively participates in large deal reviews as a representative of the finance team supporting the CFO.
  • Coordinate with External Auditors, Internal Auditors, and other stakeholders to facilitate the company's various reporting requirements.
  • Partners with the Operations leadership team to understand performance, optimize finance related operational decisions, ensure appropriate financial/accounting rigor, introduce process discipline as needed, and safeguard company assets.
  • Manage month end/quarter end close responsibilities, including preparation and review of journal entries.
  • Review account reconciliations, investigating discrepancies.
  • Ensure consistency of accounting treatment and classifications of transactions.
  • Maintain documentation of process and procedures for SOX compliance purposes and ensure controls are consistently performed.
  • Hiring, training and retaining skilled accounting staff.
  • Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications: What you will bring.

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
  • CPA required.
  • Minimum 5 - 8 years general accounting experience required; experience with telecom or other high-tech equipment manufacturers a plus.
  • Big 4 audit experience preferred.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in Revenue (ASC 606) and Cost Accounting.
  • Mix of public accounting and private company experience is a plus.
  • Experience with a major ERP (Oracle, SAP, etc.) strongly desired; Oracle Cloud experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with process improvement projects and ability to manage multiple on- going projects.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Diligent, highly efficient and accurate, with extreme attention to detail and exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Self-starter, effective follow through and timely in providing status updates.
  • Ability to work independently and productively in a dynamic environment, as well as being a solutions-oriented team player.
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills required; both written and verbal communications ability is critical.
  • Should be quick learner and self-starter who can work both independently and within a team environment and is accustomed to working with tight deadlines. Able to work flexible hours as needed during peak times.
