Job Description:

Based in the corporate office, this individual manages event marketing communication and project management for AssetMark, Inc. which supports financial advisors across the country with investment and practice management solutions.

We are looking for a passionate, experienced event lead with a focus on building teams and driving results. You are optimistic with a can-do attitude, and you exude creative solutions. You are someone who can see the bigger picture, and how that connects to the next steps of the timeline and can drive results by leveraging your ability to connect with others and ideate creatively.

In this role, the Event Lead will oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of technology tools and solutions needed for success. The Event Lead will work with the event and webinar team to understand requirements and provide technology solutions that will meet their needs while ensuring alignment with the organization’s overall technology strategy and goals. This role is also responsible for managing all logistics of assigned events, including planning, execution, and follow-up.

This role will also oversee event tech solutions as needed, including technology platforms and solutions to support event and webinar planning and execution across the organization.

We can consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to our Concord, CA office.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute event programs within the AssetMark event Portfolio according to event deployment SOPs, including kick-offs, timeline development, speaker support, budget analysis, and property sourcing
  • Manage cross-functional team to execute communication strategy for event invitations, agendas, and follow-up communications to the right target audiences
  • Responsible for timelines for every event deliverable, including content grids, leading vendors, onsite run of show, rehearsals, pre-event, and post event planning
  • Manage technology platforms and solutions for events and webinars, including registration, event mobile apps, webinar platforms, and other event technology solutions
  • Leads cross-functional, matrix-style event teams including multiple stakeholders, including Director, Events, Director, Event Design, Director Experience Design, and VP Brand, plus creative team members
  • Collaborates with the event teams to understand their technology needs and requirements
  • Manage working budgets within event portfolio
  • Create and maintain timelines and deliverable lists
  • Single source of truth for assigned events
  • Understand and manage vendors and vendor timelines
  • Post-event meeting metrics and analysis as assigned
  • With internal stakeholders, monitor event experiences and quality to continue improving experience, content, and results
  • Ensure event experience meets brand guidelines and expectations
  • Approach events in the context of wider Brand initiatives and content strategy.
  • Understand event survey metrics and produce briefings on event results for team and Executives
  • Initiate and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (Sales, Product, Business Partners, and Marketing) to develop all relevant content details in a timely manner to ensure alignment across the business
  • Attend select events through the year to review event delivery and attendee experience, as well as assess opportunities for improvement to implement within future events
  • Support and fulfill other assignments within the events team or broader marketing department as needed


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Passionate about creating lasting, impactful attendee experiences
  • Openness to feedback and development
  • High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to utilize PPT to drive event kick off, agendas, presentations and development
  • Understanding of content flow and rehearsal requirements
  • Property sourcing and contract preparation
  • Ability to lead, develop, train, mentor team of coordinators
  • Ability to create robust timelines in conjunction with multiple deliverables across matrix-style event team
  • Growing knowledge of event sourcing and property assessment.
  • Growing knowledge of production and event logistics
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written, and verbal with all levels of company
  • Ability to build relationships with internal teams, external partners, and vendors
  • High level of initiative and self-motivation
  • Detail-oriented, with value on meeting deadlines and anticipating needs
  • This is a travel-heavy role- Travel per year is approximately 50% for on-site management of events and related activities as needed by the team
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills as a technology-savvy individual with a passion for event management
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to manage multiple technology projects and deliver high-quality solutions
  • Strong knowledge of event technology platforms and solutions, including event registration, event mobile apps, virtual event platforms, and other event technologies
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams


Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Communications, Marketing or equivalent
  • 4+ years or more years of meeting planning in a high-volume environment.
  • Working knowledge of campaign functions in SalesForce.com.
  • Working experience in timeline management- eg: Wrike
  • Previous experience in the Financial Services industry a plus.
  • Experience and involvement in event or marketing trade association.
  • CMP Certification


Compensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $90,000-$130,000.

This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US to be considered. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
