Department Overview

Our Servicing experts service all Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA Finance loans originated by Walker & Dunlop as well as certain life insurance company, bank, and CMBS loans.  Our Servicing experts are the borrower’s primary point of contact and ensure that the requirements of the investors are met from loan closing through payoff.  The Department consists of six main functional areas: Loan Administration, Asset Management, Insurance Compliance, Investor Reporting, Treasury, and Compliance. W&D’s Servicing portfolio is the 8th largest in the U.S., and W&D is one of Fitch’s highest-rated Servicers, with a rating of CPS1-.

The Impact You Will Have

This position is a key member of the Servicing department working with the senior members of the Compliance team responsible for development, management, and maintenance of internal controls sufficient to ensure compliance with all investor and regulatory requirements, along with quality assurance across the various groups within the Servicing department.

Primary Responsibilities

• Review servicing functions for compliance with loan document, investor, and regulatory compliance.
• Generate and monitor reports for key due dates and deliverables.
• Perform periodic quality control reviews of all Servicing functions according to the established loan review plan and record any findings/observations; Escalate any findings to the senior members of the Compliance team.
• Gather and review documents requested by internal and external auditors.
• Work with senior members of the Compliance team to adjust compliance and quality control functions as needed.
• Prepare and maintain Compliance reporting.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Attendance is generally 8:30 am – 5:30 pm EST Monday through Friday with the ability to work up to 2 of those days remotely.
  
  

Education And Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required.
• 1+ year of experience in loan servicing or banking environment preferred.
  
  

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to approach problems logically while ensuring adherence to program guidelines.
• Proficient in the use of all MS Office products; Experience with PowerBI would be a plus.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with strong work ethic to meet daily challenges of a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to show ownership of your work, take on challenges and acknowledge growth opportunities, and demonstrate patience when learning new processes.
