The Azure Cloud Support Engineer role is a key technical position in a fast-paced, challenging, and positive work environment. TARGAN is developing its data systems platform to support our ongoing R&D efforts and our commercial systems. These systems will serve as the backbone for TARGAN’s continued growth and be built using state-of-the-art technologies. This role will collaborate with our Corporate IT, Systems Engineering, R&D Engineering and Data Systems teams to deploy and monitor cloud-based solutions in Azure. This is a hands-on role that will collaborate across the organization interfacing with multi-disciplinary teams to assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of well-thought-out solutions utilizing best practices and current industry standards. This role’s primary focus will be on our Commercial IT infrastructure but may spend some time working with our Corporate IT and R&D teams as well.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor Azure environments using defined dashboards for health and performance status changes and respond to alerts.
  • Identify new issues quickly and work with team members to develop and tune alerts.
  • Run deployment scripts to provision new resource groups, edge devices, etc., and to deploy code or environment updates.
  • Security patching and remediation.
  • Partner with our Software Architect to identify and test new cloud-based technologies for deployment in our R&D and Commercial Cloud based systems.
  • Partner with Corp IT- Security to implement robust security policies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and deliver robust solutions.
  • Team Collaboration within and outside your specific discipline.
  • Participate in design sessions and reviews.
  • Project communications, documentation & project time reporting.
  • Use of code repositories for software version control.

Requirements

  • Experience with Azure serverless technologies - Containers, App Service, App Gateways, Key vaults, Storage accounts, etc.
  • Experience with and/or interest in Azure Industrial IoT, Azure IoT Edge, Azure IoT Hub, Digital Twins and Industry 4.0 technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience using Azure DevOps tooling for code management and building CI/CD Pipelines, including Release Pipelines, Deployment Groups, and Artifact Feeds.
  • Experience with Azure Cloud Computing with a focus on serverless features including Storage Accounts, Data Lakes, Synapse, App Services, Active Directory, Serverless Functions, Managed Identities, Firewalls, and Virtual Networks.
  • Experienced using PowerShell and Bash for automation both on the desktop and in the cloud using Azure Cloud Shell.
  • Knowledge of Azure ARM Templates and tooling (i.e., PowerShell, JSON, Bicep) used to deploy assets to the cloud.
  • Experience with working with Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
  • Experience with Microsoft Sentinel.
  • Understanding of certificates (acquiring, generating, deploying, and maintaining) used for securing applications, signing messages, signing code, and securing communication channels.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office365, Teams, and Power Platform.
  • Apply industry standards, best practices, and tooling to ensure robust security for our development and production workflows.
  • Knowledge of Linux and Windows Servers and proper handling of application secrets for these environments.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment on fast-track projects.
  • Self-directed and forward thinking with a strong work ethic.
  • Robust interpersonal, listening, questioning & communication skills (written and oral).
  • Attention to detail and creative problem-solving.

Education And Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems Management (or a related field) with 2+ years of industry experience.

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or equivalent certification.
  • Microsoft Certified: Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104) or equivalent certification.
  • Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900) or equivalent certification.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure IoT Developer Specialty (AZ-220)
  • Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate (SC-200)
  • Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC-300)
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Support Engineer for Connectivity Specialty (AZ-720)
