Who We Are

Verily is a subsidiary of Alphabet that is using a data-driven approach to change the way people manage their health and the way healthcare is delivered. Launched from Google X in 2015, our purpose is to bring the promise of precision health to everyone, every day. We are focused on generating and activating data from a variety of sources, including clinical, social, behavioral and the real world, to arrive at the best solutions for a person based on a comprehensive view of the evidence. Our unique expertise and capabilities in technology, data science and healthcare enable the entire healthcare ecosystem to drive better health outcomes.

Description

We are looking for a passionate UX Content Designer / Strategist to join our team designing a meaningful, well informed patient experience. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to Verily’s mission to bring the promise of precision health to everyone. Our goal is to do this by making participation in clinical research and care management simple, easy and valuable for end users. You’ll radically shape healthcare by bridging the gap between clinical research and care management. You’ll work with the larger Verily UX team and cross-functional groups —including Product Managers, Software engineers, Clinical specialists and more.

This role is for content strategy and creation on our longitudinal registries and care programs. We are seeking someone with excellent content strategy and creation skills; a fierce advocate for the user; someone who is excited by the challenges of creating innovative, engaging and delightfully simple user experiences for complex workflows across participant touchpoints.

Please include both a resume and portfolio of writing samples, voice and tone guidelines, or other Content Design deliverables in PDF format (or website with password) when applying for this opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Turn complex and potentially intimidating information into content that patients and participants are confident engaging with and acting on.
  • Use writing and editing skills to create short-form content that supports behavior change, facilitates task completion, provides education, and otherwise engages people throughout the user experience.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, designers, researchers, legal, marketing, product managers, and engineers; influence and adapt to stakeholders and their feedback. Collaborate with user research to understand how the content is received, and iterate to make improvements.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest best practices and trends in content design and content strategy; bring this knowledge to the team and implement it in products.
  • Evaluate and train AI models to create supportive and trustworthy content.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in English, communications, marketing, or a related field - or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6-10 years of experience in UX writing, content strategy, and/or clinical study development.
  • A portfolio of writing samples that demonstrate different types of content (e.g., guidelines, UI text).
  • Excellent communication skills and collaborative working approach.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working as a member of a multi-disciplinary product development team.
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting.
