Electrical Technician - Kaizan

Job Summary

The Kaizan Electrical Technician is responsible for the ground up electrical build of new equipment designed by the Kouki Group, as well as the overhaul of existing equipment to be reused for new projects. He/she is also responsible for maintaining the overall build schedule for each job and maintaining assembly accuracy data sheets during assembly process.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

  • Understand and implement safe work practices in compliance with company policies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and electrical controls issues in circuits containing transformers, disconnects, over current protection devices, and general control components (relays, timers, PLC, etc).
  • Execute electrical and control upgrades to equipment.
  • Perform entire electrical machine assembly using drawings provided by Kouki engineers.
  • Perform testing of machine components and systems to ensure proper function.
  • Maintain assembly accuracy sheets during the assembly process.
  • Perform required disassembly of equipment in preparation for shipping to other Aisin facilities or transportation within ANC.
  • Lead the final installation, setup and testing of equipment within the production line (either within ANC or another Aisin facility within the US).
  • Be the main point of contact for engineers and outside contractors during machine installation.

  • Accurately maintain all records for each machine assembly.

Knowledge, Experience, And Skills

  • Demonstrates commitment to "Safety First".
  • Experience working with electrical distribution and control systems up to 480 VAC, 3PH.
  • Able to effectively distinguish between various wiring colors.
  • Experience troubleshooting pneumatic valves, actuators (pneumatic and electric), sensors
  • Ability to understand, load and troubleshoot PLC and GOT programs.
  • Ability to read electrical prints to wire control panels with components such as motor starters, PLCs, control relays, terminals, sensors, etc. Label all wiring to print. Test each to ensure proper wiring. Install enclosures onto main systems and wire to all external devices per NFPA 79/70/UL508A and company specific requirements.
  • Familiar with NFPA 70E safe electrical work practices (such as Lockout/Tagout, etc).
  • Have or be able to obtain an ANC forklift license.
  • Knowledge of basic crane operation and safety. Attending training.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings (electrical, part and assembly).
  • Initiative and diligence.
  • Quality oriented.

  • Ability to work under limited time constraints. Establishes a systematic course of action for self to ensure accomplishment of a specific objectives. Sets priorities, goals, and timetables to achieve maximum productivity. Able to multi-task and work under pressure.
  • Ability to work overtime including weekends as needed.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to clearly communicate information and ideas that others understand and will follow. Also, providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and vendors by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
  • Strong data analysis skills and ability to solve problems.
  • Self-motivated, self-directing, strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel with overnight stays may be required to install equipment in other Aisin locations in the US.
  • Willingness to attend training to enhance knowledge. Training may be off site and require travel and overnight stays.
  • Proficient level of skill in using MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
