Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Manager of Quality Management to ensure that our products, consisting of hardware, software and services, meet all necessary requirements before they reach the consumer and on an ongoing basis.

The Manager of Quality Management will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a system of quality and reliability testing for the organization's products and/or development processes. The quality program will oversee the delivery of specific programs consistent with developed quality management plans. The Quality department will inspect the final product to make sure it has been built with compliance to legal standards and meets customer expectations.

The Quality Management department should have a full understanding of our products, services, and operations as well as our existing and future customer base in order to best align the Quality program with our business needs.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Hires and trains quality manager staff.
  • Oversees the daily workflow and schedules of the department.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develops, implements, and ensures ongoing compliance with Quality Management Plans.
  • Oversees Quality Program to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery.
  • Identifies and sets appropriate quality standards and parameters for products.
  • Communicates quality standards and parameters to engineering and QA team, product development team, operations and other appropriate staff.
  • Coordinates product testing processes and participates in testing.
  • Regularly analyze quality data, service levels and other KPIs and suggest actions based on collected data.
  • Manage the log of quality reports and other quality documentation.
  • Ensure quality and sustainability of production processes.
  • Investigate customers' needs and wants and develop a strategies for meeting.
  • Reviews client, customer, and user feedback.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience building a Quality Management Program for a small to mid-sized company (~300m Revenue).
  • At least 5-7 years of experience as a Quality Assurance Manager or similar role in the software/hardware industry or similar industry.
  • Quality Management experience with municipal/government customers preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of methodologies of quality assurance and standards.
  • Experience in doing customer research to assess their needs and ways to drive value.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills..
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Needs to have great time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent numerical skills and understanding of data analysis/statistical methods
  • Knowledge of MS Office and databases
  • BSc/BA in business administration or relevant field
  • Certification of quality control is a strong advantage (ISO 9000 etc).
  • Must be located in New York and willing to commute 2 days into one of our New York offices.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or field related to the products being developed preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in related field required with supervisory experience a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
