Director of Software Engineering

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Director of Software Engineering in Los Angeles, CA. Roles and Responsibilities: Leadership and Management:

• Director of Software Engineering will lead, mentor, train and grow a high-performing software engineering team
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that encourages innovation and continuous improvement
• Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews
  
  

Technical Strategy And Execution

• Define and execute the R&D roadmap in alignment with company goals and product vision
• Drive the architectural design and development of our multi-level machine learning (ML) medical imaging platform
• Ensure the scalability, security, and robustness of our software solutions
• As a Director of Software Engineering, you will oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance
• Lead integration of our product in procedure room environment
  
  

Collaboration And Communication

• Collaborate with product management to define technical requirements and prioritize features
• Work closely with data scientists and clinical experts to design and integrate ML models into the software
• Communicate technical decisions and progress to stakeholders, including executive leadership
  
  

Quality And Compliance

• Implement best practices for software development, V&V testing, documentation and deployment according to ISO 13845
• Director of Software Engineering will ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, FDA)
• Maintain a strong focus on quality assurance and user experience
  
  

Requirements

• Graduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
• Proven track record of delivering complex software projects, preferably in the healthcare or medical imaging domain
• Strong knowledge of product lifecycle, ML technologies, multilayer ML model architecture, algorithm development, client-server software architecture, real-time signal or image processing, frontend and backend software development
• Expertise in software architecture, cloud computing, and modern development practices
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make sound technical decisions under pressure
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with ISO 13845, regulatory compliance and medical product development is an advantage
  
  

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
