Summary

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU

The NHL Studios Digital group is seeking a versatile and dynamic senior producer with strong editing skills and a passion for visual storytelling. As the demand for content on the NHL's multiple platforms rapidly grows, this is your opportunity to join us in a fast-paced, innovative, and collaborative environment while simultaneously reaching our fans around the globe.

The ideal candidate is a multimedia expert who knows all the latest digital trends, how to create long/short-form content, and has a desire to optimize that content to engage all users. Candidates should possess strong creativity, the ability to adapt on-the-fly, and have the experience to take a project from concept to creation which can include but is not limited to writing, shooting, producing, and post-production duties.

Lastly, this candidate has their finger on the pulse of the NHL and possesses a confident knowledge of current NHL news, trends, players, teams, and its history. Candidates are expected to understand how to create content for the game of hockey and its fans while maintaining the NHL’s brand voice.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Developing new content franchises with the Video Content Creation team for long-form content, short-form content, live content, and vertical content
  • Produce athlete and lifestyle-centric content
  • Produce, edit, and syndicate weekly and sponsored deliverables, core-NHL Digital programs and features
  • Oversee the direction and production for live in-studio content for distribution to YouTube
  • Develop and produce content at featured NHL tentpole events (Winter Classic, All Star, etc.)
  • Coordinate with multiple teams internally to optimize content, including the Digital Strategy and Analytics team, the Video Content Creation team, the Content Design team, and the Global Partnerships team
  • Making data-based decisions to optimize and maintain the NHL’s YouTube content strategy

Qualifications

Knowledge Areas/Experience

Required

  • 5-7+ years of experience producing multimedia content
  • 5-7+ years of experience contributing to YouTube channel strategy for a sports brand or media organization
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite with a focus on Adobe Premiere and Photoshop; After Effects and motion graphics design a significant plus
  • Strong knowledge of video formats, compression, and media management
  • Advanced knowledge of the YouTube platform with an understanding of the competitive landscape, the way fans consume NHL content on the platform, all features, and opportunities on YouTube and Google, and SEO knowledge to improve the title and description creation
  • Experience operating video camera and lighting equipment for on-site production and content gathering

  • Passionate about the game of hockey, the storylines surroundings its players, coaches, teams, rules, standings, and history of the league, as well as an understanding of hockey stats and analytics
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment while handling critical tasks in a composed and timely manner
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills; ability to independently research projects
  • Great communication skills and ability to execute feedback given
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule as this position may include working days, nights, weekends, and holidays based on the NHL calendar
  • Must be willing to travel

SALARY RANGE:

$80-90K

Actual base pay for a successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to: experience/training, market demands, and geographic location.
