Job Purpose: The Corporate Director of eCommerce is responsible for the overall strategy and execution of e-Commerce/Digital work for Dimension Hospitality and it's portfolio of hotels. This position supports the e-Commerce and online marketing needs of the porfolio, ensuring that all efforts are made to maximize production from online channelts to achieve Company revenue objectives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Articulate the Company vision and strategy to achieve top line revenue goals.
  • Share and distribute Brand supported e-commerce initiatives that add value to the portfolio. Communicate and implement brand initiatives in timely and effective manner.
  • Ensure that all paid search campaigns are optimized and are performing at desired levels by aggregating and analyzing monthly reports and keyword lists. Ensure expenses are within budgeted guidelines.
  • Create, aggregate and analyze monthly reports on brand.com contribution, OTA contribution and room night distribution, paid search performance reports, and available brand.com website analytical reports. Distribute and share report findings through weekly property calls, month end reporting, and e-commerce property review slides to include analysis of SEO, brand.com, OTA’s and Review Site activities. Make recommendations to maximize channels as appropriate.
  • Collect and interpret e-commerce data, and develop / maintain tools for trend comparison. Develop uniform tracking reports to measure effectiveness of e-commerce initiatives.
  • Actively participate in property financial reviews, identifying and responding to critical need areas and trends.
  • Actively participate in annual budgeting process, in accordance with company guidelines and directives. Provide current and accurate financial information, ad hoc reporting and executive overview to ownership and senior management as requested.
  • Investigate and oversee implementation of new and improved services to capture larger share of the local markets.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of relevant trends and best practices in business management and finance, so business opportunities can be identified and capitalized on in the continually changing economic and business environment. Submit recommendations for changes and improvements to superiors.
  • Provide on-going e-commerce and online marketing support and guidance to property Directors of Sales / sales teams, Regional Directors of Sales / Regional Directors of Revenue Management, and other support team personnel.
  • Direct, educate and assist direct reports and property teams in e-commerce and online marketing best practices, including but not limited to search engine marketing, online demand generation channels, social media, online reputation management and overall online representation.
  • Conduct targeted weekly/monthly property calls to review website performance, SEO and PPC results and to discuss any other relevant e-commerce and online marketing issues at the property level.
  • Provide corporate e-commerce support for portfolio wide initiatives including but not limited to portfolio centric room packages, brand e-commerce marketing initiatives and non-brand e-commerce initiatives such as Cvent.
  • Manage web-vendor, brand e-commerce team and owner relationships at both the account management and director levels.
  • Work closely with property and corporate personnel, including Regional Directors of Sales, Regional Directors of Revenue Management and Regional Directors of Operations to ensure budgeted revenue goals are achieved.
  • Interact with brand personnel, external web vendors and other partners to ensure our properties receive appropriate attention and full benefit of these resources. Provides information, guidance and direction to corporate and hotel management in all areas related to e-commerce and digital marketing. Ensure all efforts are in alignment with the vision and direction of the company, brand requirements, and local, state and national regulations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between web vendors and regional teams / executive management. Ensure that brand and vendor SEO efforts are maximized to achieve high SEO page rankings for brand.com sites and brand independent sites, where applicable.
  • Represent the company in web vendor and field marketing property status calls, ensuring that the e-commerce and online marketing needs of the portfolio are identified and addressed. Negotiate and structure new/renewed web vendor contracts for SEO work and/or independent site creation and maintenance.
  • Provide guidance and direction to vendor website building teams, ensuring that SEO and user experience best practices are applied, brand standards are followed, and revenue is readily tracked.
  • Participate in hotel acquisitions and other projects as requested, providing due diligence information and analysis and working closely with appropriate corporate personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Provide direction in all related areas in a manner consistent with the requirements of the Company, management contract, franchise agreement, and local, state and national regulations.
  • Develop, coordinate and direct activities that foster effective business relations with brand management. Keep abreast of brand standards and the competition's products and strengths to continually improve revenues and profit margins while maintaining quality.
  • Use business/management knowledge, applications in the industry, and experiences to provide leadership, both internally and externally, to position the hotel as a market leader.
  • Ensure all communication containing Company, hotel, brand and guest information is consistent with privacy policies, practices and regulations.
  • Maintain effective two-way communication that crosses departmental lines and reaches all levels of constituents. Clearly communicate Company standards and expectations to direct reports and property teams.
  • Work collaboratively with the corporate support team to ensure Company assets are accurately tracked and protected. Submit to superiors recommendations on changes and improvements.
  • Oversee the compilation and analyze various corporate and property reports to provide management with accurate information and to comply with corporate policies and procedures. Complete all required and requested reporting in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Remain positive, resourceful and possess the ability to improvise while working in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure.
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

Education:

  • A college degree preferably in hotel management, Marketing or eCommerce.

Experience

  • At least 4 years of experience directly related to e-commerce in the hospitality or comparable industry.
  • Expert knowledge of e-commerce principles and practices in the hotel or comparable industry, including search engine marketing, social media, demand generation channels, online reputation management and overall online representation.
  • Must possess advanced knowledge of accounting and budgeting along with the ability to compile facts/figures and analyze information that involves data manipulation or interpretation to arrive at logical conclusions.
  • Ability to anticipate and identify issues and exercise initiative to investigate, interpret and weigh alternatives to reach logical conclusions and make sound business decisions.
  • Display consistent professional leadership while simultaneously handling competing and changing priorities and projects. Must be recognized within the field as a person with integrity and ethical grounding.
  • The ability to effectively and efficiently schedule, manage and delegate work. Possess excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills with professionalism, diplomacy and confidentiality.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft office and property management systems. Must satisfy and comply with the legal requirements for employment within the jurisdiction.
  • Must be flexible to travel.
