DEPARTMENT: Outreach Programs/ Indirect Services 

STATUS: Volunteer/ Intern

LOCATION: AshaKiran Administrative Offices, Field Work, or Remote based on agency priorities

HOURS/SCHEDULE: 10-hours per week or project based – Based on role and agency priorities


VISION: AshaKiran aspires to be "A Ray of Hope" by bridging the gap between service providers and culturally diverse communities. 


MISSION: Our mission is to address domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking in underserved communities, such as the foreign-born, by offering culturally sensitive crisis services and providing education to enhance understanding of cultural barriers. 


PURPOSE: Provide support in various capacities as determined by the needs of the programs and agency priorities to promote awareness of the organization’s services and programs to the community for those that may need our services or that support survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Social Media: 


• Define Goals: Clarify the objectives of your social media presence (e.g., raising awareness, increasing engagement, driving donations).

• Target Audience: Identify and understand your target audience to tailor content effectively.

• Choose Platforms: Select social media platforms based on where your audience is most active (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn).

Consistent Branding: Maintain a cohesive brand identity across all social media profiles, including logos, colors, and messaging.

• Content Calendar: Develop a content calendar outlining the frequency and types of posts, including events, updates, and campaigns.

• Engagement Strategy: Plan how to engage with your audience through likes, comments, shares, and responses to messages.

• Visual Content: Create visually appealing content, including images, infographics, and videos.

• Community Building: Foster a sense of community by actively responding to comments, creating polls, and encouraging user-generated content.

• Hashtags: Utilize relevant hashtags to increase the visibility of your content and connect with 

broader conversations.

• Analytics and Evaluation: Use social media analytics tools to measure the performance of posts and overall  engagement. Adjust strategies based on insights.

• Promotions and Campaigns: Plan and execute promotional campaigns to drive specific actions, such as donations 

or event attendance.

• Partnerships and Collaborations: Identify opportunities for partnerships and collaborations with other organizations or influencers.

• Monitoring Trends: Stay updated on social media trends and adapt strategies to align with current best practices.

• Adaptability: Be flexible and adapt strategies based on platform algorithm changes and audience preferences.

• Feedback and Evaluation: Encourage and collect feedback from your audience to continuously improve your social media strategy.


A prior understanding of Canva is a plus!
