Job Summary

The Associate Medical Director (“Director”) will be responsible for aspects of delivering scientific services and products in relevant therapeutic areas, with a focus on HCV opinion leader programming. This may include slide decks for conferences or educational programs, advisory board materials, field direction memos, speaker bureau and KOL management, and other relevant internal and external materials. The Director will actively participate as a member of the scientific team and will consult regularly with the Group Medical Director. The Director will, with the support and help of the other members of CM’s team including the Account Director(s), assist with the development and implementation of clients’ strategic initiatives, new products and technologies and day-to-day activities to support the success of CM business. The incoming Director is expected to know medical communications and pharmaceutical processes and be familiar with HCV.

Job Responsibilities And Skills

  • Develops, writes, and updates the content as assigned
  • Develop, attend and report out on advisory programs and conference programs
  • Attend PRC and incorporate comments
  • Editorial and fact-check routes/incorporate comments, as needed
  • Veeva uploads, as needed
  • Understand the competitive landscape for the therapeutic space
  • Participates in strategic planning, project status meetings, and promotional review committees with internal and client teams as needed
  • Partners with internal stakeholders to ensure a high level of scientific accuracy
  • Partners with internal team and provides onsite support at key client meetings or events
  • Takes a proactive solutions-oriented approach to all tasks
  • Performs these and other duties as assigned in adherence with the standards and expectations of ClinicalMind

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience developing medical communications materials, including, but not limited to: slide decks, live and virtual advisory boards (agendas, meeting decks, summaries), speaker bureau materials and training, brochure and flashcards, and other relevant materials
  • Advanced degree in the Life Sciences (MS, MPH, MD, PhD, PharmD). An undergraduate degree in a related discipline with an applicable combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 1-year medical writing experience, preferably in a health care marketing or communications agency internship, preceptorship or equivalent
  • Ability to assist in the development of optimal product offerings including digital and print offerings and virtual and live meetings
  • Direct client and HCP interaction experience
  • Possess the ability to work directly with clients, leading discussions, and identifying solutions to their business needs
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including presentation skills
  • Travel: Travel will be required to: a) clients for customer support/maintenance, b) major medical conferences both in the US and internationally as identified as important by clients or where CM is conducting a supported function/meeting/activity within the designated specialities as well as other medical education conferences and meetings as required; c) to the corporate office in New York, NY for management meetings to accomplish the goals of this position.
