Robert Half has partnered with a fast growing Private Equity owned retail firm in search of an accounting manager.


Position Overview:

As the Accounting Manager at a dynamic consumer products company, you will oversee and manage the accounting team, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance. You will work closely with the Controller and CFO to drive financial strategy and operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of 3+ accounting professionals, including setting goals, providing feedback, and supporting career development.
  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • General Ledger Management: Manage and review general ledger activities, including reconciliations and adjustments.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts, providing insights and variance analyses.
  • Compliance & Controls: Ensure compliance with accounting principles, internal controls, and company policies; assist in audit preparations.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Controller and CFO to support financial strategy and operational initiatives.
  • Private Equity Reporting: Prepare and deliver reports for private equity stakeholders, adhering to their reporting requirements and deadlines.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role managing a team of 3+ direct reports.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance; excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP systems preferred (SAP, Oracle, JDEdwards, etc.).
  • Personal Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working independently as well as part of a team.


Reporting Structure:

Reports to the Controller and CFO.
