Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Leadership

  • Cultivate strong organizational relationships and act as a trusted HR advisor to leadership and teams.

HR Operations Management

  • Manage comprehensive HR operations, including employee onboarding/offboarding, benefits administration, HRIS management, compliance, policy development, and employee relations.

Process Optimization

  • Identify and implement improvements in HR processes to enhance employee experience through best practices and automation.

HRIS Management

  • Provide strategic direction for the HRIS system, ensuring optimal functionality and data integrity. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system performance.

Compliance and Policy Development

  • Ensure HR policies and practices align with local, state, and national labor laws. Aid in developing standardized HR policies.

HR Metrics and Reporting

  • Develop and maintain HR metrics and analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of HR operations. Provide regular reporting to support data-driven decision-making.

Employee Experience Strategy

  • Oversee the implementation of strategies focused on enhancing employee engagement and retention.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, develop, and mentor the People Operations team, providing necessary guidance and support.

Vendor Management

  • Manage relationships with benefits vendors, review plans, and recommend changes for cost-effectiveness and competitiveness.

Qualifications

  • Experience in K-12 education, charter school management, or similar mission-driven non-profit organizations is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Over 10 years of experience in HR operations, with a focus on managing and optimizing teams, processes, and systems.
  • Proven project management abilities, successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Expertise in HRIS systems, capable of configuration and optimization.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the capacity to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, facilitating effective collaboration with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Analytical mindset focused on data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Relevant certifications such as PMP and Human Resource certifications (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP & SHRM-SCP) are highly desirable.
  • Willingness to work in both rural and urban communities, including travel up to five hours within North Carolina.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: \(85,000-\)100,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
