Position Summary

An experienced and highly influential sales professional responsible for sales of ECRI products and services within an assigned territory to federal and provincial government health policy and care departments, acute, sub-acute, and long-term care healthcare providers. This posting is specific to a region including the following Western Canadian provinces and territories: BC, AB, SK, MB, NU, NWT and YK. Position will also have opportunities within the Canadian Federal Government but not limited to such departments/opportunities as Health Canada, Veteran Affairs, Indigenous Affairs, CADTH, etc. ECRI product line is very successful with governments, health authorities, and hospitals as customers for at least one of our many solutions. The call points are the Ministers of Health, Deputy Ministers of Health, Policy and Care Directors and Managers within government, health authority and provider departments; C-Suite, Value Analysis Directors, Supply Chain Directors/VPs, Patient Safety, Quality and Risk Management Directors, Clinical Department Administrators and Physicians within all levels of hospitals and government. The sale involves presenting a compelling value proposition and its substantiation around clinical evidence, cost savings and quality improvements afforded our customers with access to ECRI supplied information, tools and services. The Regional Account Executive in this position manages a multi-million-dollar business and is responsible for both customer base management and new business sales generation.

The qualified candidate must live within the region that the position covers, ideally, but not limited to, Calgary, Edmonton, or Vancouver.

Note that the Regional Account Executive - Canada will be employed through Velocity Global International, LTD., but will perform work for and on behalf of ECRI.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Use a consultative, value-based sales approach to introduce, establish, and/or sustain growth of ECRI products and services in federal and provincial health government departments, health authorities, provincial healthcare provider systems, acute care hospitals, Ambulatory and Aging Services healthcare providers.
  • Identify, qualify, and close new and existing customers consistent with established sales plans and key account targets.
  • Develop, implement, and effectively follow through with quarterly and annual strategic plans to achieve sales goals and objectives.
  • Develop and sustain strong and personable relationships with key customers to better address customer requirements.
  • Represent ECRI at regional and national events.
  • Provide feedback and information on competitive activity, changes in markets, pricing, etc.
  • Develop and implement strategic Sales/Marketing plans at the local and national level.
  • Travel with and support headquarters personnel as an expert Regional Account Executive.
  • Aid leadership covering open territories.
  • Provide special insights into market conditions to Sales, Marketing and Executive leadership.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

  • At least ten years of recent experience in successful medical sales/consulting experience, preferably with governmental departments (federal and provincial), health ministries, health authorities, acute care hospital-based Supply Chain, Value Analysis, Patient Safety, Risk and Quality departments and/or consulting company with VP/Director/C-suite call points.
  • Candidate must have a proven track record in meeting/exceeding sales objective and managing major accounts.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Approximately 60% travel. Due to the high volume of travel, the candidate must live near a major city or airport within the region.
  • Bi-lingual - English/French a plus.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field or equivalent experience.

Computer Skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 Suite of products (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

This position operates in a remote environment and requires the individual to remain in a stationary position, whether sitting or standing, before a desk or other fixed workspace, most of their workday. In addition, this position requires the individual to occasionally move about their workspace to access and inspect work-related materials, such as file cabinets with physical files and standard office equipment. This position requires the ability to operate standard office equipment, including, but not limited to, a laptop, keyboard, mouse, webcam, and phone, as well as effectively communicate information and ideas to a wide variety of audiences in written and oral form.
