Accounting Manager

Job Profile 

Cho Ventures, which includes Future of Cities, Metro 1, ChoZen and the Phoenix Arts and Innovation District, are seeking a full-time Accounting Manager who be a leader in our Accounting and Finance department. This individual will work to provide accounting and maintain financial records of the organization including daily accounting tasks along with closing monthly and quarterly financial statements in accordance with GAAP. The position will also be responsible for reporting on the financial performance of the organization, including analyzing historical performance against budgets and forecasting future results.  

Responsibilities

• Manage, analyze, evaluate, and interpret financial forecasts and operating results
• Review, analyze and evaluate financial data for accuracy, consistency, and transparency
• Maintain integrity and accuracy of all financial reports
• Ensure financials are reported in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles
• Develop reporting systems to provide timely and relevant information to management
• Record and post day to day assigned financial transactions 
• Monitor cash flow and bank balances
• Create, document, and track internal accounting processes 
• Prepare annual budgets and perform budget vs actual analysis
• Ability to prepare and update a rolling 18-month projected cash flow 

Requirements

• Strong change management skills to drive environment of continuous improvement.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities often with demanding time constraints.
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP and experience applying accounting principles within hospitality, hotel, restaurant, or real estate investment settings.
• 5 - 7 years of accounting experience, with a focus on hospitality or hotel/restaurant operations and real estate investment/development strongly preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Must have experience managing staff
• Organized self-starter with meticulous attention to detail
• Systematic and process-oriented multi-tasker
• Focus on quality and accuracy
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of Yardi or similar real estate accounting systems a huge plus
