National Account Manager

Location: Atlanta, GA - Must live in the Atlanta Metro

Role is Remote with light travel (<30%)

Compensation: Base salary up to $175k + Uncapped Commission - Earning potential in excess of $300k.


Role Overview:

The National Account Manager will oversee and grow key customer relationships, particularly with major retailers like The Home Depot and Lowe’s. We are looking for a dynamic, goal-oriented professional who excels in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting. This position demands a driven individual with a blend of relationship-building skills and a strong focus on business growth and development.


A successful candidate will drive new product opportunities, expand existing SKUs, and continuously seek ways to grow presence within major retail accounts. You will need to be hands-on, self-directed, and capable of identifying growth opportunities without waiting for direction.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Account Management: Own the relationship with key retail accounts such as The Home Depot, Lowe’s, and NAPA Auto Parts. Ensure all needs are met, and proactively address customer concerns and new opportunities.
  • Business Development: Lead efforts to expand existing product lines, introduce new SKUs, and identify new sales opportunities. Participate in product line reviews and key decision meetings.
  • Entrepreneurial Approach: Develop creative strategies to build relationships, including participating in fundraisers, events, and industry gatherings to increase face time with key buyers.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing team to align product presentations, R&D, and promotional strategies.
  • Budget and Profitability: Manage accounts to ensure performance aligns with budget and profitability goals.
  • Regular Engagement: Conduct regular business reviews with customers, maintaining pricing files, and ensuring seamless communication across internal teams.
  • Travel: Light national travel (up to 30%) for key customer and industry events.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field (preferred). Candidates with extensive experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
  • Experience: 5+ years in a senior sales role, with a focus on retail sales. Must have experience working with The Home Depot (non-negotiable).
  • Industry Experience: Ideally from the manufacturing, chemical, specialty chemical, or building products space.
  • Hunter Mentality: Demonstrated success in new business development and account expansion, with a track record of securing new opportunities and driving revenue growth.
  • Hands-On Approach: Self-motivated and capable of working autonomously in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Must be comfortable taking initiative and driving results.
  • Work History: Strong, stable work history, with a focus on long-term relationships and account management.
