The Vice President of Operations is a critical role at Merative, responsible for strategically analyzing and enhancing our business operations to support the Truven product line. This role demands a strong analytical thinker with the ability to assess and refine the business model, evaluate product performance, and implement operational strategies that drive efficiency and innovation. The Vice President of Operations will be deeply involved in client interactions, ensuring that our product delivery aligns with client expectations and business objectives. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize processes and enhance the overall client experience.

  • Execute operational strategies that align with the overall business objectives for the Truven product.
  • Leverage business acumen to identify new revenue streams, optimize cost structures, and drive sustainable business performance.
  • Continuously assess and refine the business model to adapt to the evolving healthcare landscape, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of industry trends.
  • Critically evaluate proposals, identifying financial implications and ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders, clients, and vendors, to support business objectives, this includes travel to clients and stakeholders when needed.
  • Challenge the status quo by bringing a fresh perspective to longstanding issues and processes.
  • Design, monitor, and analyze operational performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Use insights to inform product development, marketing strategies, and business positioning.
  • Establish partnerships and alliances to expand market presence and drive innovation.
  • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities within the healthcare industry by fostering relationships with prospective clients.
  • Drive revenue growth through the implementation of effective business development strategies and proactive client retention efforts.
  • Collaborate with product management, sales, marketing, and support teams to ensure alignment and support for the Truven product.
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks, ensuring business continuity and resilience.
  • Foster collaboration and cohesion across teams to drive successful execution of the company's three-year plan (3YP).
  • Provide insights and recommendations to the executive team to support strategic decision-making.
  • Lead and mentor a team of operations professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous development.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the team and with other departments, promoting a unified approach to achieving business objectives.
  • Oversee resource planning and allocation to ensure optimal utilization and achievement of operational goals.
  • Manage budgets and expenses related to operational activities, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience with a focus on healthcare or technology products.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex data, identify key trends, and draw actionable conclusions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) and project management.
  • Proficiency in using project management and operational tools/software.
  • Travel 35-50% required
