Vice President of Marketing and Product Development

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Vice President of Marketing and Product Management. This executive leadership role will be responsible for business and marketing strategy to support and fuel a high growth business. The Vice President of Marketing is responsible for identifying market trends, customer and competitive insights; and translating this into strategies that deliver long term profitable growth. This individual will collaborate and work closely with sales, operations, finance, etc.to deliver on business objectives.

The primary accountability of the Vice President of Marketing is to lead and execute profitable growth strategy. Additional key accountabilities include brand development and reputation management, product portfolio management and pipeline, innovation strategy, customer and prospect demand generation and acquisition, value proposition development and overall leadership of marketing strategies and tactics.

This role reports to the VP and General Manager and will lead the marketing team with responsibility for the development and career growth of the marketing associates.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Business Growth & Leadership
  1. Serve as active member of leadership team.
  2. Analyze and understand core business market needs to identify new growth and innovation opportunities
  3. Develop innovative strategies in response to customer needs and changes in market and business landscape
  4. Participate in ongoing customer and industry interactions that contribute to business insights and results, represent the voice of the customer within the business
  • Brand and Marketing Strategy
  1. Develop brand-building strategies that support long term business goals and build the company’s leadership position in the market
  2. Build and own brand strategy and manage all product/solution brands within the portfolio
  3. Establish and oversee short and long-term strategic marketing plan and programs
  4. Develop and articulate differentiated value proposition and customer solutions
  • Growth and Innovation
  1. Systematically incorporate customer voice and unarticulated needs into the new product development process.
  2. Develop multi-year new product/program development strategies and lead product launches to drive key business objectives
  • Product Portfolio Management
  1. Effectively position product/solution offerings in the marketplace; inclusive of pricing and go-to-market strategy
  2. Achieve long term financial success and sustainable competitive advantage of portfolio
  3. Establish clear differentiation and customer value story to enable sales
  • Demand Generation and Marketing Execution
  1. Work with senior marketing and business team to develop and implement communications and marketing strategies that generate a high level of qualified customer leads that support business and marketing growth objectives.
  2. Plan and coordinate integrated communication campaigns and product launches.
  3. Oversee content, graphics and production of all online and print communications, including website, advertising, annual financial and year end reports, e-newsletters, and collateral.
  4. Oversee the promotion of companies’ brands and their initiatives through social media.
  5. Oversee media relations, develop excellent relationships with relevant trade outlets, act as an interface between Madison Air and the media, serving as spokesperson as needed.
  6. Manage ROI metrics for marketing tactics and investments
  7. Oversee/manage the department budget.
  • Talent Development
  1. Lead and develop high performing team of marketing associates, including ongoing performance feedback and coaching, setting objectives and development plans, training, annual performance appraisals to ensure associate development
  2. Continuously improve the technical and leadership capability of the company’s marketing function

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, with emphasis in marketing preferred.
  • Successful track record of leading teams to deliver business growth
  • Experience in business-to-business marketing and value selling
  • Commercial acumen.
  • Critical and strategic thinker who can manage the details.
  • Achievement oriented with a positive “can do” attitude toward learning.
  • A strong sense of urgency.
  • Able to work autonomously but also operate as part of a matrixed team.
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple functions and strong ability to build relationships and credibility quickly across functions and levels within the business units.
  • Excellent presentation skills and experience presenting marketing plans and KPI’s in a simplified manner.


Preferred:

  • Practical experience using content management systems- developing, coding, installing, testing, debugging and documenting web applications using appropriate editors
  • Recommend and implement applicable hardware, software, platforms, publishing tools and programming languages for the development of web architecture
  • Assess and recommend web authoring, development and publishing tools as required
