Coram Flora is a group of family-owned and operated companies, providing end-to-end integrated horticulture solutions. Green Circle Growers, founded in 1968, is a grower, wholesaler, and reliable source of quality horticulture products to national distributors and retailers. Express Seed Company, founded in 1982, is a global sales distribution planner of genetics, seeds, plugs, cuttings, liners, and other horticulture products. Fresh2U Transportation is a safe, reliable, and cost-beneficial provider of horticulture logistics. Together these companies provide a diversified horticulture supply chain.

Position Overview

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a strategic leader responsible for the overall financial health and performance of the organization. This role oversees all financial functions, including accounting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, risk management, and investor relations. The CFO works closely with all CEO’s, the executive team, and the Leadership Team to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company’s business objectives. The CFO has two (2) direct reports that are our Corporate Controller at Green Circle Growers and our Divisional Controller at Express Seed. The total department headcount is on average 17 teammates.

Job Duties

• Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s long-term goals.
• Oversee all financial functions, including accounting, financial planning and analysis, risk management, and legal interface
• Provide financial leadership, partnership, and guidance to the executive team and CEOs.
• Manage and optimize the company’s cash flow and working capital.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with bankers, investors and financial analysts.
• Assist with Family financial needs
• Assist with Property and Casual Insurance
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks
• Lead the fiscal year budgeting and forecasting process with deliberate partnership across all businesses and functions within Coram Flora
• Oversee and lead Coram Flora’s tax planning and compliance
• Manage financial systems and processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy
• Build, develop, and plan for succession of a high-performing finance team within Green Circle Growers and Express Seed
  
  

Qualifications & Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field
• MBA or advanced degree in finance, preferred
• Certified Public Account Certification (CPA), required
• Experience in small business privately held companies, preferred
• 10+ years of experience in accounting and finance
• 10+ years of experience in management, supervising accounting and finance teams
• Strong experience leading with GAAP accounting and financial reporting technical skills
• Excellent computer skills with advanced Excel proficiency; ERP experience preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong sense of confidentiality and ethics driven, with a clean financial history
• Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner
• Proven ability to lead and motivate teams
• Strong understanding of financial modeling and analysis
• Enthusiasm for adapting to and driving change
• Conscientious about timeliness of assignments and quality of work product
