What you do: Our ideal teammate has work-related experience with the following

  • Participates in Acrylate and Styrene Butadiene sourcing strategies and supply contract negotiations working closely with the Strategic Sourcing Manager and Gantrade.
  • Plans production raw material purchases & issues POs for all goods and services; ensures acceptable and accurate pricing and resolves any invoice discrepancies.
  • Enters new vendor & material master data in JD Edwards and manages the MRP parameters
  • Attends and participates in monthly S&OP meetings & aligns purchases to production plans
  • Monitors & establishes raw material inventory levels.
  • Assists in the management of the weekly cycle count program
  • Ensures compliance with ISO 9001 requirements; maintains approved supplier list and material specifications.
  • Collaborates with R&D, Strategic Sourcing, Quality, EHS and Operations on new vendor and/or material qualification.
  • Works with Master Scheduler, Sales, and R&D to understand timing of new product launches or forecast changes that impact material procurement.
  • Monitors chemical industry to stay abreast of trends and developments that may affect cost or ongoing supply.
  • Maintains monomer price forecasts and communicates to management regularly.

What We Need

The Buyer is responsible for the tactical and operational purchasing functions for the goods and services purchased across all MCP sites. This position develops and maintains positive supplier relationships to ensure competitive pricing, consistent high-quality product, and on-time delivery. This role will support the Strategic Purchasing Manager in developing, analyzing, and administering RFQ/RFI’s, contracts, category strategies, supplier management and all other procurement duties as needed.

Work Location & Hours

  • Plant location| Morehead Road, Charlotte NC 28262
  • Monday-Friday 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM
  • Overtime as needed

Skills And Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience procurement; chemical industry preferred
  • B.S./B.A. in Procurement/Supply Chain, Chemistry, Business Administration, or with relative work experience is preferred.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems in a manufacturing environment, with JD Edwards preferred
  • Microsoft Office with intermediate to advanced Excel skills
