Project Manager-Primary Care Community Wellness

The Project Manager is responsible for the management, coordination and communications for the CMMI Innovation Award and ongoing related activities across the three grant agencies. It requires daily work with the Grant Principal Investigator (Kelleher) and close contact with Co-Investigator (McBride), as well as coordination with other lead staff at Akron Children?s Hospital, Partners For Kids, and Nationwide Children?s Hospital. The role of the Project Manager is to assist in implementation, monitoring and communication of complex projects in and related to the Innovation Award to the grant members, federal funders, community agencies and other external parties. The Project Manager also is responsible for coordination and execution of activities to assist with publicizing the successes and challenges to external organizations. In addition, the position assists with strategic planning activities, budget forecasting, group facilitation and other staff functions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead role in communications plan to internal and external parties including federal reporting, Sharepoint, PowerPoint presentations for leadership, weekly team meetings, agenda development and business communications as well as acting as liaison for Marketing at respective institutions.
  • Designs, develops and maintains planning analyses and reports, including graphic presentation and dissemination.
  • Lead role in conduct of team meetings and development of meeting followup plans, training of staff and development of core resource materials for clinicians and agencies related to ACO development and implementation, tracking of personnel and total hires.
  • Monitors budget and forecasts for grant expenditures and processes.
  • Develops action plans and outcomes monitoring capacity for grant including relevant partnerships to calculate savings associated with Innovation Award projects and outcomes measurement.
  • Performs research and develops analyses of services by hospital and other organizations, both local and national, creating assessments of best practices and opportunities for collaboration.
  • Maintains knowledge of appropriate project management tools.
  • Develops working relationships with other planners and regulatory agencies in the region and state.
  • Carries out special projects as assigned by Principal Investigator.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospital/Health Administration, Communications, Business Administration, Planning, Computer Science or other related field required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Masters preferred.
  • Three to five years of academic and/or professional experience in systems communications, operations or planning required, health care experience preferred; OR three to five years experience in health care business development.
  • Project management certification preferred.
  • Clinical knowledge to understand and evaluate patient- and physician-specific information, including DRG and CPT coding, as well as other diagnostic and procedural terminologies.
  • Excellent skills in writing, communications, and presentation graphics knowledge required.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills to effectively interact with medical staff, consultants, external professionals, administrators, and employees at all levels. Significant contact with medical staff, outside vendors and community representatives.
  • Physical ability to tolerate a high percentage of time in sedentary work at a desk.
