Assembly Media, Inc., a subsidiary of Daniel J. Edelman Holdings, Inc. is seeking a savvy Senior Vice President, Group Program Director to scale and mentor the project management team charged serving one of our largest clients, Microsoft. A significant role, candidates should be prepared to provide structure and rigor for the team, while managing a portfolio of multi-disciplinary work ranging in scope from five to eight figures. Successful candidates will be willing to roll up sleeves and lead from the front.

Overall, project management at Assembly endeavors to ensure that the agency best serves our clients through work that connects to creative intent, meets time specifications and quality goals, and preserves business integrity. The team may support workstreams spanning:

Communications – employee engagement, thought-leadership, product launches

Influencer – celebrity engagements, social media influencers, micro influencers

Content Production – social media, web content, branded content, print collateral

Digital – site builds, online advertising, application development, social content, community management and online editorial

Experiential – digital OOH, PR events, event signage

Paid Media Campaigns – Magnifying Microsoft work through Paid Campaigns on social platforms.

Analytics – Support Analytics Specialists as they develop automated reporting capabilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Assembly’s Head of Client Delivery and partner with U.S. project management leadership to design and communicate organizational best practices and standards.
  • Take a growth mindset towards management of project management professionals.
  • Ensure project managers can support work based on a defined assignment and prioritization model.
  • Instill a culture of continuous improvement, efficiently bringing together diverse teams and skillsets.
  • Manage and mentor team members, including resolving project escalations, setting and managing performance goals, and coaching team in career growth path.
  • Oversee timelines and project plans, including controlling project scope and the change control process.
  • Plan and coordinate internal and external resources throughout all stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Direct the development and delivery of project vision, proactively handling dependency, risk/issue management, and problem resolution.
  • Provide updated status reporting to senior management and business units.
  • Partner with Resource Management to appropriately allocate staff or external resources for work-type and scope.
  • Serve as a partner to the Business Management (Finance) team to ensure KPIs are set, projects stay on budget, fees are appropriate, and SOWs are approved.


Basic Qualifications:

  • This role requires 10+ years of experience in an agency environment managing a team and a portfolio of multiple, complex and cross-functional projects.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience


Preferred Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Expert understanding of the Delivery function within an advertising, marketing or communications agency setting
  • Excellent organizing, time management, and oral & written communication skills.
  • Ability to balance a sense of urgency with calm and confident leadership, especially in stressful or pressured situation.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, negotiating, influencing, facilitation, prioritization, decision making, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate others, inspire teamwork and take a leadership role.
  • Solid understanding of project management methodologies, including the ability to identify and resolve issues, manage risk, develop detailed work plans and specifications, perform resource allocations and run team meetings.
  • Ability to solve problems with keen instincts and organizational experience.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution.
  • Ideal candidates will have hands-on integrated marketing experience.


$122,000 - $210,000 a year

An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
