Director of Marketing, Cannabis

Our cient is one of NY State’s leading Cannabis processors focused on the manufacturing and distribution of infused gummies, vapes, pre-rolls, beverages, concentrates, and more. The Marketing Director will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies to enhance brand visibility, drive sales, and ensure compliance within the regulated cannabis market. This role requires a creative and data-driven marketing professional with a strong understanding of the cannabis industry’s unique challenges and opportunities.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a strong, cohesive brand identity that aligns with company values and resonates with target audiences.
  • Lead all marketing and branding efforts for the company including but not limited to digital and event marketing, merchandising, content ideation, analyzing market trends, and more.
  • Plan and execute marketing campaigns across various channels including digital, social media, email, print, and event, to promote our cannabis products and services.
  • Work closely with executive team to develop strategy and drive growth plans for the business.
  • Establish and maintaining relationships with licensed cannabis retailers and lounges in New York State.
  • Conduct general market research at regular intervals to keep abreast of trends, demand for our products, and competitor’s marketing movements / positioning.
  • Plan event details such as brand activations, promotional flyers, and creative campaigns.
  • Engage interpersonally with the retailer teams and connect with all assigned retailers weekly.
  • Distribute samples and record sample transactions in accordance with state regulations and OCM guidelines.
  • Stay up to date with cannabis industry regulations and ensure all marketing materials and campaigns comply with state and local laws.
  • Responsibly sell company brands to retail partners including promotions, new brands inventory management, and pricing strategies.
  • Consult, advise, and engage with retail partners on category management and business analytics to help improve the performance of their business.
  • Develop innovative ways to improve business performance through data analysis, brand marketing, product placement, and purposeful planning.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned by management.

  • Extremely organized with keen attention to detail, quick responder, with strong multitasking abilities.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.’
  • 5+ years of marketing experience, with at least 2 years in the cannabis industry.
  • Strong knowledge of cannabis regulations and compliance.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be able to pass Motor Vehicle Report requirements.
  • Must have documented track record of success in marketing which includes consistently meeting or exceeding performance goals.
  • Creative mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong copyright skills.
  • Experience with CRM software (i.e., Hubspot/Salesforce) and Google Docs.


Expectations:

  • Will demonstrate, promote, and exemplify the Company’s Core Values in People, Quality and Growth.
  • Must travel to Headquarters in Rochester as required for factory tours with customers or management strategy meetings.
  • Travel on weekends as needed.
  • Works in other areas of the facility, performing tasks outside of the scope of the primary job functions as needed.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures.
