The Director of Finance is responsible for providing consistent leadership in the financial area of the restaurants by focusing on the profitability of the business; maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting; ensuring acceptable levels on internal control; ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and Standard Operating Procedures; and safeguarding owners/investors assets. The Director of Finance will also play a key role in Financial Planning & Analysis of our restaurants,Hospitality experience is preferred for this role.

  • Effectively manage and communicate cash flow.
  • Accurate and timely preparation/review of monthly financial statements cash flow statements, management of receivables, payables, cash balances, control mechanisms and timely deposits of all funds.
  • Monitor restaurant revenues and expenses and ensure the accurate recording in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Assist operations with annual budgets and prepare monthly variance analysis. Investigates and critiques variances to budget, forecast, and prior year to offer practical improvement methodologies to management.
  • Ensure restaurant’s compliance on all regulatory licenses and permits, leases, contracts, legal agreements, and the proper execution of all operational taxes. Provide assistance to management in enforcing compliance on all these items.
  • Analyze financial data and operations to assist and advise management in maintaining the restaurants’ financial objectives.
  • Complies with Standard Accounting policies and procedures and internal controls for finance and accounting operations.
  • Timely review and approval of all balance sheet accounts, including monthly bank reconciliation and general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Establish and continually audit all internal financial controls including purchasing, cash handling, disbursements, inventories, and restaurant assets.
  • Successful completion of all internal and external financial audits, including coordination of work with CPA firms and delivering information requested by auditors on a timely basis.
  • Hire, train, supervise and develop staff, including coaching, counseling, and discipline.
  • Maintain compliance with standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient operation of the restaurant.
  • Direct or prepares all financial reports in accordance with requirements, meeting various due dates and deadlines, i.e.
    • Daily Sales Summary Reporting
    • Weekly Flash Reports, Payroll Reports, Revenue/Sales Updates
    • Monthly Financial Statement Review, Forecasting, Cash Flow, Consolidated Reporting
    • Annual Budgets, 5-Year Plans
    • Other Ad-Hoc reporting as requested by Operations.
  • Point of contact for property accounting teams, including vendor setups and P&L reviews.
  • Assist with on boarding and pre-opening accounting responsibilities for new restaurants.
  • Identify and implement best practices, cost savings strategies and revenue opportunities.
  • Executes other special projects and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree required preferably in Finance or Accounting.
  • 5+ years of Finance/Accounting experience (Hospitality experience preferred)
  • Experience in Financial Planning and Analysis
  • Experience and strong proficiency with building financial models in Excel and creating Power Point presentations required.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Build strong work relationships within Finance and Accounting as well as cross-functional groups and across multiple layers of the organization.
  • Strong analytic skills and intellectual curiosity with ability to summarize results or findings.
  • Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems, as necessary.
  • Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
  • Experience leading and managing a team.
  • Must be able to work remotely and independently.
