Procurement Specialist
Job objective The strategic buyer is responsible for optimizing the company's purchasing by developing and implementing effective procurement strategies. The main objective is to reduce costs while maintaining or improving the quality of purchased products and services. He/she must also ensure that the suppliers selected are reliable and aligned with the company's long-term objectives.
Main Responsibilities
- Needs analysis Identify the company's procurement needs in collaboration with the relevant departments (production, logistics, marketing, etc.).
- Sourcing strategy Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company's overall objectives, taking into account market fluctuations and cost-saving opportunities.
- Supplier selection Evaluate and select potential suppliers based on criteria such as quality, cost, deliverability, sustainability and regulatory compliance.
- Contract negotiation Negotiate advantageous contracts with selected suppliers to guarantee favorable commercial conditions for the company.
- Supplier relationship management Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with key suppliers to ensure smooth communication and rapid resolution of any problems.
- Cost optimization Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities while maintaining the quality and reliability of supplies.
- Monitoring and evaluation Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, cost and delivery times, and propose corrective action where necessary.
- Strategic intelligence Carry out strategic intelligence on the supplier market to anticipate trends and potential changes likely to impact supplies.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate financial and operational data.
- Good understanding of supply chain risks and ability to mitigate them.
- Interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with suppliers and company departments.
- Proficiency in purchasing management software and tools.
- University degree in business, operations management, supply chain management or related field.
- Previous experience as a strategic buyer or in a similar role, ideally in the industrial or manufacturing sector.
