This role reports to the Executive Director, Operations for Sensors, and is a critical member of the Leadership Team. This leader will have responsibilities for 4 independent sites (Louisville, KY, El Paso, TX, Chesapeake, VA and San Diego, CA), across diverse geographical locations supporting Sensor’s Depot/aftermarket operations. This includes influencing opportunities for harmonization of fragmented organizations to align on Industry 4.0 practices, and CORE operating system expansion, Tier Accountability and Lean Initiatives throughout these sites to drive a cultural transformation. This role will establish strategies to ensure Raytheon meets productivity goals such as Hours per Unit (HPU), Support objectives (CER Rates) and executes on the DEPOT transformation journey being embarked on which is looking to reshape the entire business model associated with how Depot is planned and executed. This leader will lead tactical optimization efforts to execute the aligned strategy across the segment. They will establish the vision and culture within the DEPOT sites establishing standard work, expanding CORE principles to meet or exceed customer expectations through improved On Time Delivery (OTD), financial productivity by driving Hours Per Unit's down, drive support labor efficiencies while improving the product quality of the DEPOT sites. The leader will need to exhibit transparency, collaboration, and continuous communication to ensure effective integration and improved implementation.

This role will be based in Andover, MA and will require extensive travel to the Various Depot sites across the Sensor Portfolio across multiple geographies of the US in support of program offices and factories.

What You Will Do

  • Lead across functions and provide key team members guidance, critical thinking, rationale choice making and alignment with goals.
  • Work collaboratively with supply chain counterpart to negotiate terms, delivery schedules, solve problems and develop relationships.
  • Develop operating model improvements for forming highly complex technology-based Sensor Depot technology products.
  • Responsible for the vision and plan for Sensor Depot operations area as well as program approach and overall follow through.
  • Lead and shape Sensor Depot program and change efforts to achieve predictable performance.
  • Identify, assess and capitalize on capabilities and program synergies to maximize effectiveness and productivity across multiple organizations. .
  • Provide oversight and review all manufacturing metrics for in accordance with Safety, Quality, People, Delivery and Cost.
  • Oversee and manage risks and opportunities across the program, leveraging the company to mitigate key risks and capture opportunities.
  • Partner with OSC SBU organization to provide accurate information (Cost, Quality, Schedule) to program customer.
  • Provide timely communication to executive leadership and customers.
  • Manufacturing and operations leadership, training and support to manage key metrics e.g. On-time delivery, aged WIP, Ops program EACs, pool expense/base ratios, overhead budgets, safety performance, MRP index, red rack, rework, scrap and cross functional engagement in forecasting (S&OP) and execution (S&OE), bid and proposal (HPU's), etc.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and 14 years’ experience in operations/manufacturing related environment or an advanced degree and 12 years of prior relevant experience.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Proven success leading manufacturing team in a rapidly changing and demanding environment as a proactive problem solver.
  • Excellent communicator and team-builder with strong interpersonal, negotiation, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with CORE operating system, lean principles, and guiding change efforts to support cultural and productivity improvements.
  • Ability to lead across functions and provide team stakeholders guidance, critical thinking, rationale resolution making and alignment with targets.
  • Understanding of MRP applications and identifying the necessary tools to improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Earned Value Management System (EVMS) certification and Program Leadership Certification.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 171,000 USD - 343,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
