Data Analyst

Fahrenheit Advisors is partnering with Groome Transportation in their search for a Data Analyst/Engineer to join their team. A successful person in this role will possess attention to detail, technical knowledge, communication and organizational skills and will demonstrate the ability to work both independently and within a team environment. The position is located at the corporate office in Richmond, VA.

• Airport Shuttle Segment: Medium- to long-haul scheduled van service between major airport “hubs” and distant regional markets.
• Contract Segment: Closed-loop campus shuttle services contracted with academic and institutional clients.

The Position

Groome is seeking to fill the position of Data Analyst/Egineer to enhance the organization's data infrastructure and support business scalability through improved data integration, storage, retrieval processes, and reporting. The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a Data Engineer/Analyst in dynamic, fast-paced environments. The candidate must be effective in working with all functional leadership within Groome, including the CFO and CEO. A successful person in this role will possess attention to detail, technical knowledge, communication, and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

Data Infrastructure and Management:

• Ensure data integrity and availability for analytics and reporting purposes.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and systems for data collection, transformation, and storage.
• Use data to discover tasks that can automate and optimize key processes.
• Implement ETL (extract, transform, load) processes with data from various sources and work with business stakeholders to meet their data consumption needs.
  
  

Reporting And Automation

• Design, develop, and maintain reporting dashboards using visualization tools such as Tableau.
• Prepare and present regular reports to management, stakeholders, and other relevant parties.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics.
• Develop and implement automated reporting solutions to streamline the reporting process.
• Integrate data from various systems (e.g., SQL databases, Excel, cloud-based platforms) to create unified reports.
• Use tools such as Python, SQL, and other relevant technologies to automate data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
  
  

Collaboration And Communication

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, Finance, Safety and Operations, to understand their data needs and deliver tailored reports.
• Communicate findings and insights effectively to stakeholders, providing recommendations based on data analysis.
• Participate in meetings to discuss project progress, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
  
  

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in data science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools - ideally Tableau - for creating dashboards and reports.
• Proficiency in programming languages, such as Python.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and managing large Excel-based models.
• Strong knowledge of database systems and data warehousing solutions is a plus.
• History of driving initiatives of continuous process improvements.
• Detail-oriented ensuring impeccable quality of work.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to work closely with a senior management team and external stakeholder
