Job Description

Our client, an established Community Health Center located in the New York City area, is hiring a Vice President of Human Resources. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Vice President of Human Resources will oversee all aspects of HR operations. This role is pivotal in driving efficiency, compliance, and strategic alignment across the organization's HR functions. This position offers a unique opportunity to drive strategic HR initiatives within a dynamic organization committed to enhancing community health and wellness.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and evaluate systems and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness across all HR functions.
  • Ensure the HR information system, learning management system, and related platforms meet organizational needs and maintain data integrity and report accuracy.
  • Implement HR and Training service models that integrate seamlessly with organizational objectives.
  • Oversee and enhance HR administrative processes and policies.
  • Create and revise new employee handbook/guidelines
  • Lead and participate in employee relations matters, ensuring timely resolution and compliance.
  • Drive new employee orientation programs and ensure compliance with licensing, certification, and training requirements.
  • Conduct risk and safety audits to uphold HR policies and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including benefits providers and HRIS, overseeing RFP processes as needed.
  • Ensure implementation of HR strategy across divisions including DEI, Training & Development, Recruiting, Retention, Health & Wellness, and Compliance.
  • Oversee all HR functions, from recruiting to compliance, ensuring alignment with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Foster a culture focused on employee retention and professional growth.
  • Develop and evaluate workforce strategies to enhance service quality and client outcomes.
  • Supervise HR Director and HR/Payroll Associate, ensuring departmental effectiveness and resource allocation.
  • Proactively introduce best practices to enhance leadership skills and change management initiatives.
  • Lead negotiations with newly formed collective bargaining units.
  • Schedule: Hybrid, 3 Days onsite/2 Days virtual

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or related field
  • Master’s Degree Preferred
  • FQHC experience
  • Union experience required.
  • 10+ years of progressive senior HR leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to align HR programs with business goals.
  • Strong relationship-building, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Results-oriented with a collaborative problem-solving approach.
  • SHRM and/or other HR organization affiliations
