General Purpose

As the Director of Business Development, you will report directly to the Vice President of Business Development for the US and Europe. In this role, you will oversee a defined territory, focusing on pharmaceutical companies and Contract Research Organizations (CROs). You will manage the entire sales pipeline, from prospecting and cold-calling to client meetings and closing deals. We seek a proactive and ambitious individual who thrives in a dynamic, high-performing team environment. Your role will be pivotal in introducing our solutions to new customers and driving business growth across the US and Europe. Experience in pharma and clinical trials is preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Develop and nurture relationships with key decision-makers within targeted life science companies in the US and EU.

Utilize cold-calling, networking, and email strategies to build and maintain a robust sales pipeline.

Gain a deep understanding of our technology and effectively communicate its benefits to potential customers, addressing any objections.

Present and explain our solutions via web meetings, engaging with prospects ranging from end-users to senior executives.

Achieve and exceed monthly sales targets.

Collaborate closely with the US and EU Sales Director and marketing teams to meet organizational goals.

Provide feedback to the sales and marketing teams to refine strategies and capitalize on new market opportunities.

Generate new business and sales leads through proactive outreach and follow-up on marketing campaigns.

Cultivate relationships with existing clients to expand accounts and seek referrals.

Manage both inbound and outbound leads effectively.

Adapt to changing priorities and multitask as needed.

Communicate technical concepts clearly to a non-technical audience.

Minimum Requirements

5-10 years of direct sales experience with a proven track record of meeting sales targets and selling enterprise software solutions (preferably SaaS).

Experience in the pharmaceutical and CRO industry is highly desirable.

Previous experience selling Pharmacovigilance and Drug Safety Software is a plus.

Demonstrated success in presenting to a variety of clients, including senior executives, and closing sales.

Strong presentation skills with the ability to articulate business cases effectively.

Willingness to travel up to 30-40% of the time.

Background in customer-oriented roles (sales, support, or customer service) is required.

Possess qualities such as cooperation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.

Solid understanding of web, enterprise, and SaaS technologies.

Proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to manage changing priorities.

Strong interest in technology and the ability to simplify complex ideas for diverse audiences.
