Director, Software Engineering Customer Experience

Join our dynamic and rapidly growing team committed to revolutionizing the customer experience. We are seeking a visionary Director of Engineering to lead and enhance our customer-focused engineering initiatives. This role involves developing and supporting our main Tapcheck App and Employer Portal to serve our Employee customers and Employer customers, managing multiple teams under Customer Experience: Employee Experience, Employer Experience, Mobile, and Platform teams.

What You'll Do:

  • Drive the strategic vision for our engineering team, focusing on customer experience improvements.
  • Lead and mentor multiple engineering teams, including team managers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Oversee multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
  • Scale engineering teams in a fast-growth environment, ensuring robust processes and scalability.
  • Utilize cloud computing experience, with in-depth familiarity with Azure.
  • Ensure the adoption of best practices in software development, architecture, and quality assurance.
  • Advocate for the customer in all technical discussions, ensuring our products meet high standards of usability and performance.
  • Use engineering insights and metrics to gauge performance and drive continuous improvements.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, and Marketing to develop customer-centric solutions.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, open communication, accountability, and ownership.


What You'll Bring:

  • 10+ years of experience with a minimum of 5 being in a hands-on leadership role
  • Extensive experience in cloud computing, particularly with Azure, including processing high volume traffic and mission-critical services.
  • Experience with CI/CD.
  • Experience with Scrum, Kanban, or another Agile application development methodology.
  • Experience working at a hypergrowth company, perferrably within fintech or related field
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills with a track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results on time.
  • Deep understanding of software development, architecture, and engineering best practices.
  • Experience with API integration and financial technology.
  • Knowledge of security standards and practices relevant to the industry.

Compensation: $215,000 per year + equity. The actual base salary varies on job level and will depend on numerous factors such as: location, experience, training, knowledge. and skills. Tapcheck reserves the right to amend, change, alter, and revise pay ranges and benefits offerings at any time. All applicants acknowledge that by applying to this position you understand that this specific pay range is contingent upon meeting the qualifications and requirements of the role, and for the successful completion of the interview selection and process. It is at the Company's discretion to determine what pay is provided to a candidate within the range associated with the role.
